Kitchen Gadgets - Micro Planer

A friend of mine gave me this micro planer as a gift. This thing is amazing. It makes easy work of grating carrots fine enough for carrot cake, all with your own two hands. I had to call her the last time I used it to thank her again. I do a lot more cooking at home these days so I can have much better control over what I eat and this little invention has made a lot of jobs easier for me.

That is one of the best tools to have that it should automatically come with every kitchen, haha. I love mine! Can’t believe I went as long as I had without one.

I wonder does your carrot cake recipe call for finely grated carrots?
My recipes don’t specify; and I wondered if it makes a difference!
Welcome back, Merri - I don’t really have a specific carrot cake recipe, sorry to say I’m not a big fan of carrot cake. However, on rare occassions I look up a recipe on the internet for carrot cake when I need one and they most always ask for finely grated carrots. I most recently grated carrots that I then used in my stuffed mushrooms - it was awesome! (I just figured more people would be interested in grating carrots for carrot cake than stuffed mushrooms so that is why I mentioned it .):)
