Potato Cutter

potato cutter

I now have this Progressive potato cutter. It is what I used to cut my zucchini and cucumber when I made Baba Ganoush. This works really well. It has a suction mechanism so it doesn’t slide when you are trying to use it (a little lever on the side releases the suction when you are done) and it comes with two different size grids so you can cut smaller or larger sticks.  The grids and small parts are all dishwasher safe.  YAY.

I haven’t used it to make “fries” yet but I know I will use it to make baked sweet potato fries in the near future.

I used to have one there are great. I used it to cut up all sorts of veggies. They were great for finger foods.

Thanks for stopping by Opal! I get the feeling I’ll be using this quite a bit for finger food, as you said. Can’t get much easier and healthier than chopping up some fresh veggies and just munching on them, right?

    I want one of those… haha…

It’s a big project to cut up enough potatos for all of us…

Whoa, this looks like fun, I am so jelous! I love making the oven fries from Moosewood (yes, I’m bringing them up again) and that contraption would make the job so much easier. Thanks for stopping by my blog by the way, I’ve been looking yours since and I like what you write. I have some vegan recipes on the way (I just started to eat cheese, I’ve never liked it till now) so even if my recipes aren’t vegan, some of them are just as good and had most likely been made without the cheese.

Muncha, I have to admit that this contraption is kind of fun to use. It’s like the grown up version of the Fuzzy Pumper Barber Shop. LOL. But instead of tasty looking play-dough coming out the other end you actually get something you can really eat. The Moosewood’s oven fries are so good. Have you tried sweet potato fries? Oh, yum. That is what I’m gonna use this for next.

It totally looks like a play-dough machine, ha! I love sweet potato fries with a horseradish or wasabi dipping sauce. Amazing!
