I’m a Doofus

The other night I was really hot and it was hard to sleep. Normally I’m the last one to put the air conditioning on because I end up getting too cold from it too quickly. But not on that night - I was so uncomfortable that I got up late in the night and put the air conditioner on full blast. I got up a few hours later thinking that the air conditioner just was not doing a great job. It still seemed so muggy in the bedroom. So, I adjusted the controls to make it cool the air another two degrees. Well, it seemed only a short time later that hubby was up and getting ready for work and was asking me about the air conditioner. Did I turn it on? “Yes,” I muffled into my pillow, hoping he could understand me so I wouldn’t have to repeat myself and could roll over and go back to sleep. “Well, it usually works better when you shut the other windows in the room.” Apparently, it was so dark in the room when I turned on the air conditioner that I didn’t realize the other window in the room was open as fully as it could be. TGH didn’t rub it in or make me feel bad about the wasted money/electicity/energy. He is the best. But I bet he had a funny story to tell at work that day. At my expense.

Funny! But it was dark .. and you were sleepy .. good reasons for not noticing I think!

Jen - yes it was definitely a d’oh moment for me. But don’t think it was the only one - I have PLENTY of those. LOL.
