Yuppa Ucdate, I Mean Yucca Update

Posted on July 14, 2007 - Filed Under Flowers/Gardening

TGH and I have done some research and we believe the yucca we have in our yard (that I posted about here) is the filamentosa type. It is also known as Adam’s Needle. This type is known for the distinctive way the leaves turn dry at the edges and curl up into thread-like filaments. You can read/see more about it here. We’re no botanists, but the fact that it is hardy (I haven’t managed to kill it yet) and that it is native to where we live makes sense and points us to that conclusion, anyway.

Funny. TGH and I saw some at a local restaurant we went to the other day and they were in full bloom also but didn’t look like exactly the same type as ours. Now that mine has finally bloomed, I’ll probably be seeing them all over the place. Isn’t that just the way things go? LOL
