Yes, that is a teabag in the bowl to show you just how small these grapes really were. Each little globe was about 1/4 inch in diameter, more like the size of a small berry than your standard grape. They actually looked more red than blue as they do in this photo - I think it’s because of the condensation forming on them as I had taken them out of the fridge to pose for this pic. Anyway, I found these at Trader Joe’s and they were labelled, “Champagne Grapes.” Well, I had never seen nor heard of them before but they were too cute so I had to get them, thinking these would be awesome for another little tea party with the great niece.
Well, they certainly went over well with the great niece. They were sweet little fruits with no seeds and thin skins so they were easy to eat. So, I figured that must be why they make champagne out of them. It was hard to get my big clumsy fingers in the tightly packed bunch to pick them off one at a time without knocking some off and I decided it was actually easier to roll a few between my thumb and finger and almost flick them into my other hand until I had a bunch then just toss them all down the hatch at once. LOL. Verrrry ladylike. But it was fun.
Well, my nephew-in-law later informed me that they are so named “champagne grapes” not because they make champagne out of them, but because they are used to dress up a champagne glass by draping them over and around it. And now I know where zante currants come from. Always learning something new here at The Vaguetarian Tea Room!

I think I have had those once. I really like them, tho, it’s been a while. I remember the aroma of them were AMAZING! YUM! They are cute lil buggers! And I love the Tea Bag you chose for size comparison.
Ohh, we bought some of those a while ago, still have not tried them yet, but soon. Nice to hear of others reactions to them. And, yes, they are cute tinee-tiny lil things!!
Thanks for sharing the link, too!
