A Little Celebration

fireworks

These fireworks are because my #1Niece made it through her surgery yesterday. She has thyroid cancer and had to have her thyroid as well as some lymph nodes removed. She was terrified to be put under anesthesia. Her surgery lasted quite a long time and after she was out of recovery, she had to go back into surgery because she had some bleeding. She is like a child/sister to me so I was extremely concerned. But she is okay! Commence happy dancing. Hugs all around! I’m going to visit her in the hospital today!

wow teeni- may I ask how old your niece is? That is fantastic news that she is ok. I hope she recovers well and feels good. Enjoy your visit with her. Keep us posted!

My niece is only 25 (well, she just had a birthday so she might be 26 - gawd my memory is horrible). I sent you an email.

Wow that is SUCH good news!
I bet that she is thrilled too!

I’m sure she is so relieved that this one is over with. But after having to go BACK into surgery, she may be more apprehensive for the next one. But the next one shouldn’t be so involved, or so they (the doctors) have led us to believe. But we have to take these things one day at a time and yes, it is such good news that she made it through this surgery. I’m relieved. I called the hospital earlier and her husband told me she is resting so visiting today may not be such a good idea. So I’ll let her rest but I sure would feel better just getting a glimpse of her to kind of reassure myself. *shrugs* I guess I am feeling motherly and overprotective of her right now.

I would also like to post my well wishes to your family. This must be tough for all of you to go through. May things continue to improve for your niece.

Thank you all very much for your well wishes. I try not to get too personal on here (Imagine if I did? LOL) because we EACH have our family issues and sad stories but I try to keep it positive because I believe that is the best way to live. And each of you has had a part in keeping me that way, whether it be a kind word, a funny story on your blog, pretty pictures or just keeping me busy learning new things. Thank you very much.

I don’t know what happened to my original post - I know I wrote one to say that I was glad your neice’s surgery went well and that I was wishing her a speedy recovery. Sorry if you thought I didn’t care! I did post a comment … it just got eaten up! :-0

Awww - Hannah, I didn’t think you didn’t care. I definitely don’t get that cold a vibe from you at all! I would have just figured you were busy this weekend as many people have been and it seems many people were away from the their computers. And I have had comments and messages get eaten too so I know it happens sometimes! Thank you for your kind words and well wishes, anyway, because they are never too late!
