Glass of Cherry Tomatoes

These are the first little guys we got from the tomatoes in the garden. Four beautiful, red, round, cheery little cherry tomatoes (sorry for the weird shadow effect in the picture - although I actually think it’s kind of cool). They didn’t last long because I ate them right after I rinsed them off (I DID save two for TGH when he got home from work). They were mouth watering and warmed from the sun - sooooo goood. It looks like we are going to have a lot more so I’ve been looking for recipes for them. I found some here that I might like to try and you might too!

That’s so great! We LOVE cherry tomatoes, my boys eat them like they are lollies! I must try and grow some myself.
You should be very proud of your achievement.

i love love LOVE cherry tomatoes… i think i’m going to try to grow some next year. I am not a gardener, by any means, but this year i planted 2 tomato plants and 4 red pepper plants.

it’s so exciting to see these little veggies growing, and i’m amazed that i havent’ killed them!! YAY ME. hopefully it stays warm enough for them to ripen… fall’s creeping in, last night it was 7 degrees Celsius (45 F) and today’s high is only 22 C (72 F) but we won’t make that. i just don’t want my little plants to freeze! :D
Laura, If I can grow them I’m sure anyone can. I did start mine indoors to give them a headstart on my three-season porch - the only place in my house that gets any good light. I would think your tomatoes should be okay as long as it isn’t frosty at night yet. How long before they are ripe do you think? Anyway, I do hope you get some because nothing tastes better than tomatoes fresh from your own garden.

well, they should be okay for a little while longer, i don’t think we’ll get frost until september. i guess i’ll just have to keep my eye on them and cover them up if it looks like it’ll be too cold.

i had a dream last night that it snowed 3 inches. i woke up very depressed. lol.

Now that IS depressing! I hope that was not a premonition. Yikes!

    that’s a great photo!

Thanks, Abigail! I am certainly no photographer by any means but every so often even a slob like me gets one that comes out kinda neat.

“warmed from the sun” …ahh, I bet that was a lovely feeling.
