Plant-Baby Baby Shower
Posted on September 2, 2007 - Filed Under Virtual/Blog Party
Thank you all for participating in the plant baby-baby shower! I am so glad you all could make it! Please help yourselves to a hot cup of tea and make yourselves comfy while I open the gifts - you’ve all been so generous!
Here are the presents:
Weather:
Wonderful sunshine from Hannah (Blair’s Boys):
How thoughtful! The kids are definitely going to need this sunshine to grow strong and healthy! And I can tell that this is gentle sunshine from the friendly smile on the sun’s face! Thank you so much, Hannah!
Beautiful Sky from Heather:
Wow - what a great way to remind the kids when they are having a bad day that every cloud has a silver lining! And what kid doesn’t love looking up and finding “pictures” in the clouds? Thank you so much, Heather (also for the beautiful words that came with it in the “card” you sent - I treasure them)!
Gentle Rainshowers from Hannah (Bittersweet):
What a sweet thing to send my plant babies…gentle showers that will nourish them and help them grow to be big and strong! How kind of you - thank you, Hannah!
Role Models:
A divine dogwood tree from Merri:
Why, this is just gorgeous! What an inspiration and someone to look up to for the plant babies. Thank you so much, Merri!
A lovely orchid from Penny: Wow! My plant babies are definitely going to turn out okay with such a pretty orchid, standing tall, as a role model. I know the kids will learn a lot from her! Thank you so much, Penny!
Food:
Bio Feed Plant Food from Penny (it’s vegetarian, LOL):
Wow! How did you ever find this? Vegetarian baby food for the kids! It’s perfect! How very thoughtful and generous! Thanks so much, Penny!
Best Bottled Water from Harmonia:
Oh, this is so nice of you, Harmonia - a whole months’ supply of the best drinking water for the plant babies. How wonderful and generous! Thank you so much!
Composter from Harmonia:
Ooooo - this will come in so handy for the kids! A lovely and earth friendly composter! You really are so creative and thoughtful. Thank you, Harmonia!
Miscellaneous:
Gnome from Ariell:
Isn’t this just the cutest little thing to put in their soil? The kids will love it - it will brighten up their space! Thank you for such a fun gift, Ariell. Please thank Rupert for me too!
Touching card from my sweet MIL:
Ahh, Phyllis, you know how much I love Maxine and Floyd! Thank you for the sweet sentiments in the card and most of all for giving me Floyd in the first place. Without you this whole plant baby-baby shower never could have happened! Thanks again - love you to pieces!
Teddy Bear from Laura:
Oh, Laura how sweet! What kids wouldn’t love a teddy bear like this? He has the most adorable expression and is so soft and fuzzy. The kids will love him and he can make them feel all protected and watched over at night while they sleep! Thank you for the wonderful teddy bear!
Book of bedtime stories from my #1Niece:
Speaking of night time - this book will be great to read to the kids at night! They’ll learn history, how they should behave, and learn about diversity in their world! Thank you for thinking of their little minds, #1Niece! It was very creative and thoughtful!
Baby Carriage from my Sister#3:
Leave it to my sister to be this creative and to find this “baby” carriage for the kids! LOL. Thanks to you Sister#3, I can take the kids for long nature walks in comfort and style. This has got to be like the limousine of plant baby carriages! Thank you so much!
And finally, a poster of Gary Sinise for the nursery, from Harmonia, because she knows I think he is a gorgeous hunk of man. I guess this gift is more for me than the plant babies. But she knows that this makes me happier and therefore, the plant babies happier. She obviously has our best interests at heart and that is how she earned the title of plant baby Godmother! LOL.
I hope you all will feel free to stay and talk among yourselves while I clean up all the wrapping paper and cut the cake to serve! Again, thank you all for coming! Hugs to everyone! Ooops - what’s this? Opal! Is that you coming through the door? I’m so glad you made it - just in time for cake! LOL. C’mon in. You brought what? Some natural insect repellent for the kids? Made out of Neem, Peppermint, and Tea Tree Oil? Oh, Opal - I am so glad the kids are getting a rare homemade gift! Not only will it keep the bugs off them, they are going to smell good too! Heehee. Thank you so much for coming! What a great party!

Teeni- you are a wonderful hostess at this lovely plant baby shower. The hot tea is yummy. And yes you have a lot of wrapping and tissue paper to clean up, may I help? Your babies are very fortunate to have you as their mother!
So do you watch CSI NY if you like Gary Sinise?
Thank you for the party! I’ll get back to mingling…
I don’t get to watch CSI NY - I am ashamed but we have about 9 remote controls in the living room and I barely know how to turn on the television so I don’t watch much television - just a couple of shows with TGH but I have never caught CSI NY. Do you think it’s too late to start watching it? I loved Gary Sinise in all the movies I’ve seen him in. I should start watching CSI - I just always feel awkward trying to catch up on a show. LOL. But I think I just talked myself into
hI agree, you are wonderful hostees!! Looks like the kids got some great gifts!
I love the Gary Sinise poster … he’s one of my faves too!!
Congrats Harmonia on being chosen as Godmother!!
Isn’t he a hunk? LOL. I HAD to ask Harmonia to be godmother after she gave me that poster. How could I resist?
Oops, I mean “hostess” … doh!
LOL. So glad you could make it Hannah! And don’t worry - I don’t mind being called the hottest, oops I mean hostees. Well, I don’t mind hottest either. LOL. Piece of cake, Hannah?
Great gifts you have here!!! Very nice! And thank you so much for naming me Godmother! YAY!
I hope I can be a good role model! teehee…
GARY…YAY!!!
LOL. Hmmm - I should get a photo of you with the “kids.”
Well its the first time I’ve ever attended a party before my breakfast but that’s the ’small’ [or rather teeni] modern world for you 8-). Thanks for being so welcoming. Enjoyed the gifts and your other guests. I hope you are now having a good rest after your hospitality efforts. A specail party room was a clever idea too x
Thanks, Penny. Yes I believe parties definitely need their own “rooms.” We need room for all the fixings and a cozy atmosphere for mingling. I’m so glad you could make it! Wouldn’t have been the same without you!
Um yeah, I showed up unfashionably late and without a tangible gift.
I am all class.
I give the babies plenty of love and hugs… does that count?

Great cake by the way…mmmmmm!
LOL. Kami it’s okay - just glad you could make it. Plenty of love and hugs is always a perfect gift, and it’s always the right color and size. Thanks about the cake - I made it myself…just a little of this *grabs some air* and a pinch of that *pinches some more air* and Voila - virtual blog party cake! No calories either!
Hmm - has anyone seen Merri? Is that her over in the corner, admiring the Gary Sinise poster, with Ariell?
Although all the gifts are fabulous I really am not thinking about them sense Gary Sinuse entered the party. I say lapdances for teeni! Wait a minute you already have a GH lapdances for me!
Although I had read The Stand long before I saw the movie that book took on an entirely different meaning after I saw that movie. I could not get GS off my brain, lol.
I’ll have to post my insect repellent recipe the pests avoid my garden like the plague. They cannot stand the smell. I used it on my grapevine that would not produce grapes. It did after I spritzed it with that combo. It’s a plant saver!
Ahh - Opal - that is when I fell in love with Gary Sinise. I loved the book, The Stand - it’s still one of my favorite novels, but the movie really got you involved with the characters. I’ll always cry over Tom Cullen losing Nick - “M-O-O-N, that spells I’m in love with Gary Sinise.” But I’ll be more than happy to let you have some lapdances. LOL. If you haven’t read the Stand, then you are going to think I’m insane for what I just wrote. LOL. That is great news about the insect repellent - it also saves plants so the grapes can grow. That formula does double duty!
…it should haven been “since” that picture has me “senseless” Gah!
OOPs that was me, lol.
Although I too don’t watch much TV, I can see what the fuss would be over such a handsome fellow!
Teeni, what lovely decorations as well as yummy food!
Those babies have got a great mamma…
Hmm, I WILL have some more tea, (sips daintily, pinky finger extended, lol)
Great party!
Thanks so much for coming, Merri. You know I would have missed you terribly. And you know that one of my upcoming parties is going to be a tea party, of course! What kind of tea room would this be if I didn’t?!!
I love The Stand and I agree with you about Nick losing Tom that was sad. I’ve read the book numerous times. Trashcan man was barking mad.
Neem is great for fungus and a variety of other ailments my grapevine had been had that problem fruit would appear but it would rot soon afterwards.
I recently saw an article about renewed research with Neem because of it’s effectiveness warding off a variety of diseases that affect plants.
I had my gifts planned the moment you announced the party I was just late in sending them, lol.
yay parties and cake! your little babies got quite the haul!!
Yes, they did. I would say this party was quite a success! Thanks so much for coming, Laura! It would not have been a party without you!
