Oh Happy Day!
Posted on September 29, 2007 - Filed Under Meme, Thank You
Lots of wonderful little things have been happening to me lately. A lot of it has to do with my bloggy friends so it’s only fair for me to share some of it with you all! I think I’ve been walking around with a big ol’ smirk on my face because I’ve been so delighted.
What has got this woman’s head in the clouds yet again, you wonder? Well, let me tell you:
1. I was entrusted with a special blogger friend’s phone number and got to talk to her on the phone and hear her voice LIVE! This may seem like a little thing to some of you but I think we all have concerns about our privacy and personal information on here. To top it off, this person is extremely modest and shy so it just made me feel so good that she trusted me. I had to make sure I kept the call short so that I didn’t get too excited and make a bigger doofus out of myself than normal. Plus I don’t want to scare her away. LOL. But that whole experience made me very happy and she knows who she is and I won’t say on here but just wanted to let you all know that was one thing that truly touched me. Thank you!
2. I received a package from Kami as part of the Pay It Forward movement that is going on. I was the lucky recipient of these lovely items:

Kami’s little note says
“Teeni, Here is your Pay It Forward ‘little something.’ The products are 98% natural and smell good enough to eat. Enjoy! –Kami”
Well, let me tell you, they DO smell good enough to eat and I can’t wait to use them - had to get my pics on here first. But the most special thing is that Kami picked these out herself. I LOVE them. Thank you, Kami!! I’m already working on my “little somethings” to pass on and will think of how to pass them on in the next couple of days.
3. Another bloggy friend has offered to do a little something for me that I am not going to tell you about just yet because I just get way too excited about it and will probably end up hurting myself. I will just tell you that it was something totally unexpected (and I don’t even think it was PIF related). Anyhow, the result is something tangible and as soon as it is in my hot little hands you will be hearing about it here. So stay tuned. It may be a little while before I receive it though.
4. TGH and I are getting bicycles! Why am I happy about this? Because I used to make fun of adults who rode bicycles and now I get to BE one. Hey, when I was young I was stupid and making fun of adults was the cool thing to do (it’s still fun sometimes) . But now I’m older and not so stupid - at least enough to know that I’m fortunate to even BE here so now I want to DO things and get exercise and have fun, not just make fun of others! Let the kids laugh at me! I’ll laugh with them. Because I’m happy that I CAN!
5. I got to chat live with another bloggy friend, not long ago and that was really fun. She is an amazing person and has quickly become one of my best blog buddies. She is different than me in that she is talented, serious, and thoughtful while I’m a silly goof but we each respect each other and we each have a crossover point where our personalities equalize or connect somewhere in the middle. We are similar where it counts, where we care. So that was a nice treat that really means more to me than I can say and I hope to meet up with her more in the future. Thanks, friend.
6. I also am hoping to catch up with another bloggy friend in a chat or instant message session sometime. She and I have been emailing and the more I talk to her the more I want to talk to her/listen to her even more! We have no formal plans set up yet or anything but I’m hoping to run into her sometime next week when I’ve got a little time in one evening to devote to a little chat without distractions. We will catch up with each other eventually no matter what! I’m really looking forward to that.
So those are just a few of the things going on that have been making me happy. Just figured I’d share it with you all since my blog buddies were such a big part of it!
Anyone have any creative ideas as to a contest or something to pass on my Pay It Forward gifts? Leave me a comment or send me a private email using the tab at the top of the page! Thanks!

hahaha glad we can make you happy once in a while
Thanks, Kaylee. Yes, my bloggy friends make me very happy! I’ve been very fortunate in having the best people visit the vaguetarian tea room. And yes, that includes you.
bloggy buddies are awesome.
Oh yes, they most certainly are!
Oh I am so glad that my little something made it onto your happy list! And yay for all the other happiness for you too

Hugs!
Ps bikes are SO much fun.
Thanks so much, friend! My readers truly ARE the best!
What a lovely post!! You sound so excited and happy, which is just great, you deserve it!! I’m so glad you have had all these great things happen to you, you’re a wonderful friend and one of my FAVE bloggers ever!! Love coming here, and love it when you visit me! We’ll have to “chat” one day too … tho it could be costly! LOL.
Have fun with your bikes!!
Oh, Hannah - I would so love to chat with you!!!!!!!!!! If we both have some type of instant messenger we could actually chat in real time for free! That works for me as well. I’m not terribly hard to please, just tickled with all the great relationships I’ve been fortunate to make on here. By the way, you are also one of my all-time fave bloggers! I think you are also one of my long-timers!
The bikes will be a lot of fun!
Why am I not surprised that some of things that make you happy involve social interaction.
It’s a great feeling when you get to know more about your blogging pals isn’t it? I was touched when one of my blogging buddies sent me a package and I had only known her online for a few months.
It’s always nice getting to learn more about the people you connect with online. It makes them more “real” to me. I recently connected with one of my newer (I met her this year) blogging buddies on IM and that was a great experience I believe for both of us.
After I had my daughter I met one of my forum buddies in person. We both went to the same Annual La Leache League event. I only went because I knew she would be there. We chatted via email, phone, it was so great to see her and her lovely baby in person.

I understand people want to keep privacy but with those that I interact with online regularly through email naturally I want to know more about them. I reveal more about myself in emails if I’m comfortable with someone so naturally I look for people willing to do the same.
How about including some of your lovely homemade soap in the PIF?
Yah know you made a brief appearance in my dream last night. We were sitting around a fire chatting about soapmaking and natural beauty products, lol. We were talked about the different things we had made over the years, and then we started talking about foods that heal. My daughter was in the background driving my ferret’s nuts, lol.
You are all of those things you know!
What an awesome comment - thank you Opal! Sending you a private email!
And, oh yeah, that is too funny about your dream! I’d love to hear how you pictured me in your dream. Tall, thin, beauty parlor fresh and runway gorgeous? LOL. That’s how I look in MY dreams, anyway. Then I wake up to the real me and that is a nightmare. heehee.
I’m so glad to hear that things have been going well for your lately! And I bet that that blogger you talked to on the phone was pretty excited to hear from you, too.
Thank you Hannah! If she was half as pleased as me, that would make my day!
please stay happy i like to see my friends happy and quite honestly it makes me happy too
So then you can understand why I don’t like to think of you being in pain. Speaking of that, how is your day going today?
its going great much better than when i talked to you last night.I am not doing much today though.
I’m glad you are better than last night and maybe it is good to not do much today. You still need to catch up on your rest. See if you can get your sister or someone to sit around and play some cards or a board game with you. It keeps your mind off of things you can’t control and lets you spend quality time with someone. Cut up some fresh fruit, make some popcorn, sit back, play a game and relax. (or watch a movie). It doesn’t get any better than that!
haha good idea think i will
Im glad you are so happy! You being happy always makes me feel happy! LOL
LOL. Thanks, Calamity - you made me smile! I was just wondering what you’ve been up to!
well, I have been sick, and I am having a very rough time with things in general right now. But I will be going to the Dr. soon and all will be well
Aww - that’s not what I wanted to hear! So sorry and hope you are back on the mend soon. I’m sending you a private email.
You have been busy!!! Sorry I haven’t been around as much BUT my blog is NOW private and and you have access! I will start my compulsive blogging again.
I Have been doing a lot of stuff in the ZOI and work has been crazy busy. I have also been getting ready for the Gallery to open and see how they display. The Grand Opening is supposed to be in the middle of this month! I volunteer there as well and there is so much that needs to be done…I am not sure if it will be ready by then, but I framed my stuff this weekend so…I just have do write a bio.
Hope to “see” you soon!
Hugs!
Wow - Harmonia - that is AWESOME news! I’m so happy for you about the Gallery - I can’t wait to hear how the grand opening goes! Oh, I know you’ve been busy in the Zoi! You’ve been making it all so much easier for all the new people and I appreciate it! I have been missing you though so I’m going to check out your new private blog now!
the bikes will be so much fun. the boyfriend and i took our bikes over to an outdoor trail. it was invigorating and fun. really tests the fitness of your bike. enjoy!
Thanks, Ariell! I’m so excited about this and can’t wait to try it out! You can bet I’ll be posting about it though!
….watch the mail……
Eeeep! I’m so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what fun soap goodies! enjoy them!
I know, hearing someone’s voice makes them real in a different way. Like when I see a picture of someone who I’ve only imagined what they look like. They become three dimensional. That’s a funny thing about blogging friends…
I know - I always worry if I ever meet a fellow blogger. I don’t want them to be disappointed when they see me. I know I’ve felt that way about actors in movies after I’ve read the books. Couldn’t they have picked someone who matched better with what I had in mind???!!! LOL. I guess everyone has their own interpretation.
thank you teeni- i did not know!
