Happy Birthday to Opal, who is a terrific blogger, a great friend, and a wonderful mentor. She may think I’m talking about her volunteering as a mentor to young girls but I’m really talking about the mentor she is to me and other bloggers in our community! Opal, these are for you and I hope you have a sparkling day and a sparkling year (to use your own words)!

Good question, Heather. I bet she is though because October is Opal month, right? My sister is also an October baby and her birthstone is opal.

Thanks teeni! Thanks everyone! I love these flowers. The orange ones look like some type of lily? I love lilies.
My mom named me Opal because one of her coworkers at the time was named that. She loved the name. Pure coincidence that it happened to also be my birthstone.
Aw nuts. Oh well, good thing I didn’t make a bet with anyone about your name! LOL! Oh, and yes - those must be lillies. I didn’t know you liked them but I’m so glad I picked this bouquet now that I do know!

I completely agree with the mentorship part Teeni! In fact, one of my friends who came to my site recently saw all the gems that Opal drops and is like, “Man, that Opal is serious!” Couldn’t agree more!
