Teeni’s Tea Party
Posted on October 10, 2007 - Filed Under Real Art, Tea, Thank You

Isn’t this just the most precious and beautiful painting ever? It is a watercolor made especially for me by the lovely and talented Laura at I am the Diva. It arrived in the mail yesterday (well actually a notification arrived yesterday and I went to the post office to pick it up today) and I’ve been gushing about it ever since. Of course it came with a sweet note and I HAD to share it with you all on my blog (cause there’s no way in heck I was ever gonna share it with you for real - this baby’s all MINE)! LOL.
I love the little girls’ dresses and the fact that they are so busy in their own little tea party that they take no note of anyone catching a glimpse of them. The details are fabulous, from their little lacy collars to the checks in the pattern on the teapot. And I do have a bench like that in my backyard. How did she know? Scary.
Someday I hope this is you and me, sharing a little goodie together, Laura. Until then it will be that way in my heart. So many thanks to you for such a wonderful gift. I will always treasure it. Okaaaaaaaay, enough of that mushiness, my screen is getting blurry for some reason.
**Regaining composure** Ahem. Sniff. So, I’ve been fooling with getting a picture of the painting and all kinds of crops and fancy added-on digital mats and stuff but there is no way I can do it justice since I’m not a great photographer so I figured I’d just put the clearest photo I could take out there for you.
I’m finally going to get to use one of those 50% off framing coupons from the Michael’s arts and crafts stores. I will have to take another pic of it once that happens. But for now, please enjoy it in all its splendid glory. My own little tea party, done by the Diva. It’s a beautiful day! ![]()

Oh wow, that is just beautiful!! And so meaningful, since you are the tea party queen. What a special friend you have there.
Yes, Hannah - she really IS special. ALL of my blog friends are but this is definitely one of many places where Laura shines! Sometimes I wonder how the heck I fell in with such a talented bunch and why they haven’t kicked me out yet. But I’m glad they haven’t.
wow! I love that!! Its just so perfectly you!!
Thank you Calamity! How nice to think that you think it “fits” me. That is very flattering to be described by Laura’s art.
Hooray!! i’m glad you like it! i can’t wait to see what it looks like framed! *girlish giggle* i feel so famous.
You ARE in my book!
THAT is gorgeous! What a wonderful gal that Laura is. And dare I say, not at all Diva like
Have fun framing it!
Hehe. Don’t tell anyone how she is not Diva-like. I think she prides herself on that sometimes. LOL
I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s lovely teeni - talented friend you have.. 8-).
Yes, she is! Thanks Penny. She needs more people than me to tell her that.
That is a lovely watercolor. Thanks for sharing.
Great choice on the paper it’s on also.
Yeah, those torn edges are something. I like the extra detail they add to the whole piece. She thinks of everything!
Re: Your comment. That isn’t a silly question, that’s a really good one that I should have clarified more! The main reason is the URL. The blog is Proximity Infatuation, but I was using the rosiebell.wordpress.com address and that was confusing to some readers. The other reason is that I want the blog to go in a different direction with the essay style and short story writing. The old blog had too much “Blah, this happened today, blah!”. I also have a third blog in the works for wedding type stuff. It just made mroe sense to me to make everything seperate. Hope that makes sense.
Aww how sweet. Very nice…
I’m so glad I could share something pretty back with you, Beth Ellen!
Awww what little sweethearts! Starting out young in the fine appreciation of tea; most commendable!
I hope that you will be putting a little frame on it, Teeni!
Oh, yes. I will do that and will post new pics then.
It’s a faboulous picture Teeni - so sweet. And what a lovely gift. I wish I was in there at that tea party - I could use the respite.

Hi WriterChick! Welcome to The Vaguetarian Tea Room. I’m so glad you stopped in in time to see this glorious piece. I hope all is well with you. I will be by.
That’s Gorgeous!
Thanks Harm! Good to see you “out and about!”
You are spoiled and truly blessed to have one of masterpieces!! I am extremely envious since I don’t have one as of yet!!
It truly is beautiful, she did an excellent job.
Oooooh. I know I’m spoiled, Melsie. I really and truly am. In many ways. But I’m trying not to take it for granted. So I hope that makes it easier on you!
How very sweet. Looks like a perfect setting for a perfect little party.
Yes, it does. Wish I could go back to those innocent times. And then again, I don’t. But I love how this painting makes me feel.
That is so gorgeous!
Do be careful taking it to Michaels, their framers are not professional framers at all, they’ll let anyone off the floor frame and I’ve seen and heard horror stories of what they’ve done to beautiful pieces of art, needlework, and photographs!
Thank you, Loretta! Welcome to the Vaguetarian Tea Room. I have only once ever taken anything to be framed at Michael’s and they did a good job. That was a couple of years ago. But I will definitely be wary of them now. Thanks for the heads up. I just don’t know anywhere else to get it done but I’ll look around in my area. Please do come again, anytime - you never know what fun things will be going on here!
Hugs all around!!
And yes, i have been known to have very un-diva-esque moments….
Oh, hugs isn’t all that is going around, deary - you just keep poking back over here cuz I’m trying to get a video posted that will interest you.
ohhh really?? sweet!
yeup. Dang youtube had me waiting and waiting. But it’s done now! Yay!
[…] from my bloggy buddies on it and that is why I haven’t yet found the perfect frame for my artwork from the Diva. Maybe it will become the Great Wall of Teeni. LOL. I just know that when I gaze upon […]
