A Mystical Trip

As I mentioned in the previous post, this has not been a normal week for TGH and I. We don’t normally get to do all the fun things we’ve been doing this week. We had big plans for vacations this year but ended up not being able to get away at all this year with all my doctor’s appointments and my niece’s doctor’s appointments and stuff. So the year has been flying by and we decided we wanted to do some fun things before the cold weather sets in. TGH took the week off from work and we have been going gangbusters. First was the Vegetarian Food Festival, then the Apple Fest, then another great bike ride which I didn’t post about yet, and a trip to the Boston Opera House to see Wicked. I think TGH does these things more for my benefit than his but I think he also enjoys them.
Our latest little jaunt was an overnight trip to Mystic, Connecticut. We stayed right in the village at the Whaler’s Inn. It was one of the softest beds I’ve slept in. The building was very old but nicely decorated and well appointed. We had internet access so I was able to try and keep up with my blog buddies! LOL. I did visit a few blogs and send a few emails but if I haven’t been by your place it is because I couldn’t get to everyone and I’m still catching up. Can you tell I’m addicted?
Old Mistick Village, as it is called, is a sweet little area near the ocean and has a variety of little eclectic shops. I love to go poking in those little shops and had a great time. We also went to the Mystic Aquarium, which is where I took some video to post.
The first video is of the belugas and the seals and sea lions. The belugas were breathtaking to see and so graceful. The second video is of the moray eel, jellyfish and skates. I’m working on a third video of the penguins - they were so much fun. But I’m having an issue with it so I’ll try again with that one tomorrow!

Thats very cool! was it as fun as it looks?
Yeup and I brought the videos home so now you can pretend you were there too!
LOL YES I CAN
Ah wicked coool! I love belugas whales!
Good to see you get out and have some fun!!! I love how you always include pics/videos. . makes it like we were there too! Thanks.
Thanks, Ms. Red! I do try because you all really are with me (in my mind anyway)!
And yes, the belugas are just gorgeous creatures.
Those are nice. I think it would be fun if you can dub some nice music over them instead of hearing all the screaming kids. lol I have never been to an aquarium…some day will do this as I am sure we would enjoy it. Nite.
Oh, you definitely need to take your daughter - you’d both have a blast! G’night, buddy!
Oh, you’re right about the music - I just wanted to get these up quickly and didn’t want to spend too much time editing.
Those were great. Sea creatures are so amazingly graceful aren’t they?
My hubby and I actually got to see a Moray eel in the wild when we were snorkeling in the Cayman Islands. The guide knew where it lived and lured it out from hiding with some squid.
I was a little frighted too though
Might have to have you post about it in the middle of the winter so we all have something tropical to think about!
LOL. I would have been frightened too! I thank the movie, Jaws, for that. LOL. That is so cool that you got to see one first-hand though! I bet that was an incredible trip.
Awesome!!! Looks totally amazing!
You have had such an interesting & eventful week! So much fun and adventure in a few short days!
Yes, it’s been fun and my head is still reeling! LOL. We need to do a little of this more often and not so much at once. I do start to miss the routine of my own home.
once on the food network (maybe it was rachel ray??) went to Mystic and showed all the great food you could eat for really cheap. yum yum.
LOL. Ariell, they also had a great natural/health food store right in the village! It had everything, from nutritional yeast to Enjoy Life’s semi-sweet chocolate chips (my favorite) and also frozen treats, etc. I picked up a couple bags of my chips while I was there because they are not so easy to find all the time. The dinner I had there was probably not considered cheap but it was divine. It was a mushroom and wild rice ravioli dish with artichokes and sun dried tomatoes. WOW, was it ever good. We ate at the S&P Oyster House.
Cool!! Thank or letting us share your trip! I had a blast!!
Aw, thanks for the sweet comment, Ms. Calamity!
