Pretty Pictures

Posted on November 29, 2007 - Filed Under Nieces and Nephews, Real Art

I’d just like to share some things with you today in this post.

dragon
mermaid

These pictures were drawn by my Niece #2. The mermaid in the middle pic is supposed to be me. She has such dainty fins, I mean hands, don’t you think? ;)
Anyway I think my niece is very talented. In addition to her artwork, I’m also very proud of her for the latest two posts she recently did at her site. Specifically, this one and this one. She’s getting so grown up. Well, she IS grown up I guess (but will forever remain youthful at heart like her old auntie, I hope) . I’m thankful that she visits my blog and that she is a good kid. She’s not embarassed to link her site to mine and she is her own person.

Her brothers and sisters are good kids as well, as are ALL the kids in my family so I want to take a moment to be thankful for them. I love and enjoy them and feel blessed to be their Auntie.

That is Fantastic artwork…I could never draw that good.Hehe I am the worst drawer ever. That girl is pretty Talented.I was in a art class last year but quit. That is just my thing.LOL!

That’s too bad that you quit Kaylee. Maybe you didn’t give it enough of a chance.

Nice pictures. I’ve never been able to draw that good. That’s part of the reason I take pictures. At least with that, I can be a little artistic.

There are tons of things I’ll never be good at, but I do like your attitude, Mike - finding something you CAN be artsy with instead of dwelling on what you think is lacking. Well, after my little holiday cartoon we all know that I can’t draw either so obviously I can’t claim my niece gets any talent from me. Oh well. That’s okay - I still get bragging rights cuz she’s my niece! ;)

Those are excellent drawings. I think she does the eyes very well. I hate drawing eyes!!

It’s awesome that you are such an involved and caring Aunt … they are very lucky to have you.

Thanks, Hannah. She does do a great job on the eyes! Yeah, I keep telling them that. Maybe someday I’ll get it beaten into their heads. LOL

I knew you’d like her stuff, Ms. Red. I think she has another site she’s working on with more of her art.

Great pictures! She is very talented! I read her posts also, and let me just say, you have every right to be proud! I really wish more kids had as level a head as she seems to have!!

Aw, thanks Calamity! I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks so! :)

BTW, I’m warning you I’ve got another tear jerker x365 up for Nov. 30th. Tomorrow I’ll get to a lighter funnier one…

Those are awesome pictures! I really suck at drawing…. but I can dance! Thanks for sharing the links to your niece’s posts.. I’ll check them out next.

Hey Talina! I can’t draw either so I’ll just join you in dancing. **gives Talina a twirl and starts to boogie**

Hmmm - you should show us some of YOUR work at your blog, Kaylee. I’m sure all your readers would like to see your artistic side!

I wonder if she intends to study art or illustration?
Well I’m sure she’s proud of you too Teeni; you are a wonderful Aunt and so involved with your dear family. It’s so great to see!

Thank you, Heather. You always say the nicest things! **beams even wider** Oh, and she does know that I hope she’ll take more art training. It can’t hurt for her to learn as much as she can - she can decide later what she will use in her future but should take all the training now that she can. Do you have any words of advice you could give her?

She has quite a steady hand. Good job! :)
Thank you Beth Ellen! I will try and point to her stuff more in the future!

Hmmm advice. Well if she really enjoys art and drawing, I would suggest she spend as much time practicing as she can. Keep a sketchbook, and draw draw draw!

Thanks for the good words, I will pass them on to her in case she doesn’t come back and check comments here. Hugs to you!
