100 Things About Me - Part 2 of 10
Posted on December 22, 2007 - Filed Under 100 Things
Here’s another installment of random facts about me.
- Horseback riding is uncomfortable for me. My legs are too short and usually the horse is fat so my legs are almost in a split. I can’t do a split so that is no good.
- Calvin & Hobbes by Bill Watterson is my all-time favorite comic strip.
- I love journals, but only one type. It has to be a hardcover, spiral bound (so I can flip it all the way open and write on the opposite of my dominant-hand side easily) . It also should have an elastic band built into the back cover that will either hold it closed or hold the page open that I’m currently writing on. I write all kinds of blurbs, ideas, and posts like this in there. Oh yeah, the journal has to have lined pages as well because I can’t write straight without them.
- I am no good at doing math in my head.
- I have a horrible memory except for trivial things. I can remember my phone number from 26 years ago or the license plate of the maniac who was driving in front of me two weeks ago. Weird.
- I never believe compliments completely but I still like to get them.
- I’m always sincere when I give a compliment. If I don’t like something I won’t lie to you but if I don’t have to bring it up, I won’t. If you bring it up and ask my opinion, I’ll be honest yet tactful. I don’t think there is a need to be mean or nasty about it.
- My handwriting is atrocious. I can barely read it myself. But I enjoy the manual process of writing on paper with a smooth rolling pen. There is something therapeutic about it.
- I prefer a medium point pen. Fine points bug me and blue is better than black ink for some reason.
- I hate to dust so I keep most of my knick-knacks in only one room.

I am no good at maths period. Head or paper. Though I can sudoku.
I think the dust thing is pretty normal…you really have to odd to like dusting. :o)
Hi Hay! Yes, if you like dusting you really need to get your head examined. That is just not right. LOL. I like sudoku but can only do the easiest of puzzles. I like crosswords much better. I feel like I have a better chance of getting the answers right.
OMG!! The journal you described is JUST like the ones I use!! Wow! I also have stipulations about them and spiral cover and lined pages are my biggies!
I also prefer blue ink to black! All the free pens I used to get at conferences for work ALWAYS had black ink - grrr!
Wow - isn’t that funny?!!
I may not be a great writer but you would think so with all my funny stipulations and demands from my journals! LOL. I’m glad I’m not alone though. And yes, WHY are all the free pens the ones with black ink? That is just not fair. LOL.
Calvin & Hobbs by Bill Watterson is my all-time favorite comic strip.
My hero!!!!!!!!!!!
OOps - there I go spewing babble in my own comments area. LOL. Have a wonderful holiday season, Lincoln and don’t be a stranger around here.
Hi Lincoln! Thanks for visiting the Vaguetarian Tea Room! It’s great to see you here. And yes, isn’t Bill Watterson a genius? And although I miss those characters to pieces, I think he did the right thing in retiring them and not allowing them to be licensed, even though a lot of money stood to be made. I mean, he had his principles and stuck to them and to me that makes the strip even that more precious.
Oh my gosh I ALSO have atrocious writing and I ALSO never believe compliments completely!!! That seals it: must…blogroll you..now..

Thanks, Romi! I’m truly flattered and honored to be a part of your blogroll. I’m adding you to mine as well. Your blog is so much fun to read!
o.o
XDDD my english teachers always get mad that I’d rather write out my essays/projects/researchpapers to typing them.
I just like seeing my tiny handwriting covering pages of paper… there’s something satisfying about it.
And blue ink is always better than black. Bic pens too.. XD
You DO have tiny handwriting!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels that way about handwriting and about the blue ink. I haven’t paid attention to the pen brand before though. I’ve always just been happy when it’s a medium point and not a fine point. Now I’ll have to pay attention and see if I like one brand better than another. Hmmm.
I’m not much of a horseback rider either. And they can tell that at the stable cuz I always get the really loser horse who only gets excited when he’s on his way back to the stable.
I’ve a hard time using journals, for me, it’s either a yellow legal pad or those spiral notebooks that school kids use for school.
Nice little tidbits about you, Teens - liking it.
Annie
LOL@ getting the loser horse. Ha - I guess I like the journals I like because I used to use yellow legal pads and spiral notebooks but I beat on them way too much and they fall apart. The journals stay nicer a LOT longer in my care. I’m not very gentle on them. -Eeep!
“I have a horrible memory except for trivial things. I can remember my phone number from 26 years ago or the license plate of the maniac who was driving in front of me two weeks ago. Weird.”
Thats me too except i got the greatest memory when it comes to baseball
‘I am no good at doing math in my head.’
you hate doing math in your head? Not me I love it!
‘My handwriting is atrocious. I can barely read it myself. But I enjoy the manual process of writing on paper with a smooth rolling pen. There is something therapeutic about it’
Me too…my teachers always write on my papers slow down and take your time.My cursive is very neat though
We have a lot in common, Kaylee. I’m thinking this might have to be your next meme if you are up to putting down 100 things about yourself. But hey, you can break it up like I did and just do ten at a time!
Knick-knacks SUCK, only because of the dusting part. Yes they do!
hahahah, horses. I can soo see that, too, Teeni. It’s understandable though. I don’t like riding them because it hurts my ass. One would think that my big ass would be plenty of cushion for a saddle, but noooo .. it still hurt my booty.
Yeah, I am not a real big collector of things that collect dust. LOL. I don’t think it matters how much padding you think you might have on your butt. Fat horses and short legs just don’t work. I think I’d be okay if I could stand up in the stirrups but since my legs are being forced out to my sides like I was doing a split, there’s no way to stand up.
Oh I would love to do that seems absolutely fun….I think I like the way you think
I did part one would have linked you if I could but my blog wont let me for some reason.
i love the feeling of ink flowing onto paper. i’m totally with you there! and Medium point is Far Superior to Fine Point… but i prefer black to blue.
Merry Christmas Teeni!!
LOL. Hmmm - TGH prefers black to blue ink also. Well, that’s okay. I still love you both! and a very merry holiday season right back atcha, my little Diva!
I dont do mental math either. Hubby and the boys are whizzes at it tho! I like reading these
Hmmm - maybe you have to start doing one of these too?
Well, they do generally say that males are better at math. I’m tending to think there might be some truth in that. But I don’t see why it can’t be changed if more attention is given to the females when they are being taught. Oh, I’m glad you like reading these. I love reading them about other people too.
Calvin and Hobbes is the epitome of cartoons. I heart Calvin and Hobbes!

YES!!!! YES they are and so do I!!
