100 Things About Me - Part 4 of 10
Posted on January 1, 2008 - Filed Under 100 Things
Here’s another installment of those intriguing factoids that keep you on the edge of your seat. LOL. Soon, you’ll know me better than I know myself!
- I’m either getting wittier as I get older or I just like to laugh at myself more. I kinda hope it’s both.
- I wear my engagement ring inside of my wedding band. Why? Well, I’m not a big fan of traditions that make no sense to me. What makes sense to me is that the marriage seals the engagement so I never took off my engagement ring in order to have TGH put my wedding band on. I’m sure everyone at the wedding thought that was odd, but it made perfect sense to me and honestly, nobody asked me about it cuz they probably couldn’t see that well from where they sat anyway.
- I used to (still do) love reading Mad Magazine. I loved all the little extra cartoons in the margins. I was disappointed and fascinated to find out that they were actually drawn in a normal size but then shrunk down to fit in the margins.
- I used to dream I could fly. I would have to get a running start first but the feeling was so real and was such a freeing feeling that I’d wake up disappointed to find out I really couldn’t fly. But usually in the dream I was flying away from something scary. One time, King Kong was chasing me! Yikes!
- I don’t like red, white, and blue together much, but take any combination of two of those colors and they look really sharp together. But red, white and blue look better together than red and green do to me. I know, I’m weird.
- I keep a bag of Balsam pine needles from Maine on my nightstand. I can’t think of any scent more relaxing to fall asleep to.
- I have never fainted in my life. I once thought I was going to when I saw my ex-husband had shot his thumb through with a nail gun, but thankfully, I kept it together.
- I’ve never broken a bone in my life either and I’d like to keep it that way.
- When I was a kid, I wanted freckles, braces, and glasses. I only ended up getting the glasses later when I didn’t want them anymore.
- The thought of biting into aluminum foil bothers me a lot more than the sound of fingernails down a chalkboard (although why anyone would want to do either of these things is beyond me).

mmm Balsam pine…
a coworker of mine has the most wonderful hand lotion, it smells like cedar. Not pine, but still, it’s a very relaxing scent.
Oh, cedar smells wonderful too! I like my man to smell a little like cedar.
Yum. Oops. Did I type that out loud again? Sheesh.
Broken Bone Free <——–Beth
I don’t think I would like to bit einto foil either nor chew on Saran Wrap nor suck on Wax Paper though it might work well for flossing.
Oh - another thing we have in common is the broken bones and the dislike of using food wrappings for dental tools. LOL
LOL Me too on number 10. I still do number 4 LOL! Heck, I dream I can do alot of things that I cant.I can definately tell you that number 7 has happened to me a number of times as you know, but, I wish I could tell you different.I have broken 9 total bones in my life.My right arm three times,That makes you completely impaired when ou are right handed LOL! I have also broken both wrists twice and my ankle once, and my collar bone once.I’d say that’s enough for a lifetime wouldn’t you?
Yeup - that’s plenty. Let’s try and limit it to the past, okay?
Reading this reminds me I have to catch up on mine
PS i dont like red, white, and blue together either except on a flag
#2 made me smile! I always thought it very odd that the rings were in that order, and remember feeling “naked” on my wedding day without my engagement ring on (it was on my right hand until after the ceremony). I love that you just did it your way! Makes me want to take my rings off and switch em!
I’m glad it made you smile. You are allowed to do whatever you feel comfortable with. Unless someone has a really good reason for me to wear them the other way, I’m liking my idea. TGH and I also ate from the top tier of our wedding cake. We knew we wouldn’t be doing that tradition of saving the smallest tier to eat on our one-year anniversary and the baker was a friend of ours so we planned with her ahead of time to make the top tier chocolate cuz we both like chocolate - and we would eat that one ourselves so that is the one we cut into. The other layers of our cake were chocolate and white so people could choose one or have both. At first some people gasped when they saw us cut into the top layer but then we explained it to them.
LOL yes, I pray that do thats why i avoid all monkey bars and running on tile now
Lol, it’s amazing how many people get hung up on tradition. I don’t like wearing jewellery much so my engagement ring doubles as a wedding ring. Hubby and I got it from an antique shop, its a heart shaped sapphire between two diamonds. I like that it has a history, that it sealed a love before ours
Hi Hay! That is a great way of looking it! I love it. I’m not a big jewelry person either and my ring is a diamond with a sapphire on either side! How funny is that?
“the thought of biting into aluminum foil?” Hahaha, that is a very unique thought

Also, I didn’t used to dream I could fly, but when I was a younger kid, I would actually “try” to fly…like probably 100’s of times, I would stand on the couch, flap my arms so fast until they hurt, and then I would just LAUNCH….sometimes I really felt like I got a bit of “air time”, so who knows? Haha..yeah, I know…weird
But that is why we love you so, Romi. Oh and I was checking out your new look at your blog. I think you are too young to have been the girl I knew cuz she would have been my age now which is *gasp* 41 in a few days. But don’t you worry - some guy is gonna scoop you up soon. I can’t imagine someone with your fun personality being alone too long (that could be dangerous - LOL).
Haha, okay, maybe I’m not that girl you knew…and by the way, I am forever all about “being as old as you feel and having fun”….you seem really fun, so screw the number 41, just be 8 years old on the inside…haha…or maybe a more grown-up age, whatever suits you
I LOVE your attitude! And I love having friends of all ages so YAY for us!
I’m not very fond of red white & blue either together. But I do like shades of red and green together, like a limey green. I used to want freckles too when I was younger! Why did we? And I’m afraid to say it, but I’ve never broken a bone either! You and I have alot in common Teeni, wink wink. Hugs to you
I like red and green in nature - they look great together. Just something about the man-made colors I guess. LOL. sometime you can show me the limey green and red together that you like - maybe I would like that. I never could completely rule it out as I’ve never seen every shade combination. I knew we must share a lot in common, but our differences are cool too! Hugs right back at you, friend!
I love that you do that with your rings. I am such a conformist that I wear them the other way. Our minister told me the wedding ring had to be closest to your heart. But you way is more exciting… go Teeni.
And the nail gun. YOUCH! I had a nasty visual on that one. I may have fainted. I never have yet but that might do it.

Hi Kami! As long as you’re comfortable with how you wear your ring - that is all that should matter. And yeah, the nail gun incident was the first time in my life I ever looked at something and felt myself start to feel woozy. LOL. Fortunately, I sat down, had some water and was fine. I think it was just seeing something like that happen to someone so close to me. If I had shot my own thumb with a nail gun, I’d probably have been just fine - aside from the obvious pain, I mean. LOL
Yes, aside from the obvious pain!

heehee
freckles, braces, and glasses ?
That’s a bit weird, Teeni. I’ve had all three. No fun. Not at all.
I love your lists! Im glad you havent broken anything or fainted. Neither of those are enjoyable.
I dislike glasses (on myself - they don’t bother me on other people) and don’t like the idea of metal on my teeth these days, but I still think freckles are adorable. I assume you have had bones broken and that you’ve fainted. Sorry about that Ms. Red. Sometime maybe a post on those things? Hmmm? You know I’m nosey. LOL
I have never broken a bone…But I have had a few broken for me. Does that count? LOL I love the smell of pine. thats one thing I really miss about having real Christmas trees. I have freckles and glasses and wore braces for 4 years. blah LOL These are fun to read!!
Hey - except for the broken bones, I wanted to BE YOU when I was a kid! LOL
I love the flying dreams! They’re the best. And with practice, you can learn how to control it too.
I’d love to do that because in my dreams I kind of fly like Cuckoo Man from the Mighty Heroes if anyone remembers that cartoon. But sadly, I don’t fly so much anymore in my dreams.
Hey Teens,
#1 is probably a little of both.
Loved that you, like me, wanted glasses until you actually needed them. Figures, huh?
Oh and yikes, biting down on aluminum foil is fricking painful.
Amazingly, I too, have never broken a bone.
WC
Wow - so I’m not the only one! Sometimes I feel like a freak when I say I’ve never broken a bone and everyone in the room is like, really? Maybe I’ve been hanging around with clutzes? LOL. Thanks about #1.
I LOVE these lists you’re doing - it’s so much fun to learn more about you!!
Thanks, VeggieGirl! Hey, feel free to do these yourself! I love reading them actually more than I like writing them!
Oh, and no using any of this info against me in the future. LOL.
Oh, and I’ve also never broken a bone!! I always wanted to though, I felt SO jealous of school mates with casts on their arm or leg. How nuts is that????? I guess I just wanted the extra attention and to have everybody sign my cast or something! LOL
Ha - I think I just wanted the attention and the signed cast too! LOL. Kids will be kids, I guess.
I think that everyone has dreamed that they could fly; isn’t a wonderful feeling??/
No wonder the airplane was invented…
I TOO have NEVER fainted nor broken any bones(eek, hope that karma isn’t listening..lol)
LOL about wanting braces..I did too!!!
I wonder why?
Did we think it interesting or cute or?
I did have glasses TOO early though, at 2 years old..ugh…
I loved MAD, too. My sister ‘turned me on’ to it before I knew it was cool. I loved folding that back page to make another picture. It used to drive my sister crazy if I managed to get to it first! : )
Hi Imadethis! Welcome to the Vaguetarian Tea Room. Oh yes - loved those fold-ins! LOL. I hope you will feel free to drop in anytime and join any games that may be going on. Oh, and do you have any other name you go by? Just checking cuz I feel like I’m talking to myself when I say “Imadethis.” LOL.
