Bad Baby Name Game

Posted on January 1, 2008 - Filed Under Games, Just for Fun, My Sick Humor

Happy 2008 loyal readers! A new year - this calls for a new game!! :)
While we are still passing around the story game, I would love to start another game going - the first Teeni game of the new year! This one would be a little more difficult because you guys are so creative. I’d like to get a list going of some really bad baby names. We could provide this list to potential new parents to keep them from bestowing a moniker on their child that will end up providing them with endless torture for their entire lives. So it’s for a good cause. ;)
I’ve listed three here to give you an idea of what I’m looking for, but I’d like it if you could email me your suggestions and then I’ll post the list all at once in a week or so. If you are new here, you are welcome to join in - just use the E-mail Me tab up above and I’ll get your contributions to the game! Thanks!

Moe Lester

Drew Blood

Han D. Mann

NOTE:  Just to clarify - these do not have to be real people’s names that you have met or know of.  They can be made up.  I think I might not have made this completely clear.  Anyway, remember those joke names you used to hear about in a viral email like “Ben Dover” or “Ima Glutton”  - the ones which, if you say them quickly you may think you are hearing something else and not necessarily a person’s name.  So you can make some up if you like as long as you make it up yourself and don’t steal them from some viral email or something.

My daughter named her son Ethan Utah and now goes by the name Utah because there are so many Ethans in his age group. That’s not a bad name.

On the other hand, to continue in the same tradition, when she picked Ciera for their daughter’s first name, I suggested that Nevada would have been a good middle name. Her response was, “Oh, wow. I never thought of that. That does sound good.”

At the age she is now, it wouldn’t matter, but as she grew older and her peers started to learn about geography, they might have started teasing her about being named for a mountain range. (Ciera sounds the same as Sierra.)

Utah is definitely a unique name. But fortunately, it’s not a bad one. Your daughter must be a creative person. Who would have known that Ethan was such a popular name but it seems each year there are some names that just get used a LOT when naming babies. Whoa - Yeah, I could see that really COULD have been a problem if Ciera’s peers had started teasing her but I’m glad they didn’t because really Ciera is a very pretty name. :)

I am really glad I was never named after my birthplace “Snowflake”. ;)
Oh, yeah, that is a little too cutesy for me. And if your last name had been “Winters” then all your friends would have called you “Snowy Winters.” LOL. I guess it could have been worse though. ;)

Oh, I believe you! I remember hearing this name quite a bit - I’m adding it and removing it from the comments so nobody else will see it yet! Nice add, thanks, Mike! :)

When I was in high school I heard someone on the radio wishing a Happy Birthday to their daughter XXX XXXX.

Hi Elisabeth and welcome to the Vaguetarian Tea Room! Friendly faces are always welcome here. Thanks for joining this little game. I’ll add that name to the list and edit it here so nobody can see it until I reveal them all at once. :)

    Cherie Hunt

A friend of mine’s SIL is actually named that. Her parents must have taken one look at her and said, “Stripper, no doubt.” lol

LOL. That is pretty bad. Oh, welcome to the Vaguetarian Tea Room, Honeywine! So nice to meet you. :)
