Writing Assignment for January 2008
Posted on January 14, 2008 - Filed Under Live Poet's Society, OhNoMiJo, Writing/Blogging

Remember the Live Poet’s Society (now affectionately known as the OhNoMiJo* to me, anyway) that Hannah and I started where we assigned each other writing assignments with a flexible deadline? Well, we had a month off for holidays and festivities but now it is time to do it again. We are going easy on each other this time around because of heavy workloads and honestly we just need to ease into this new year. LOL.
Anyway, the last assignments started here and ended with these results. We do hope you will join us this time by choosing to complete the assignment that Hannah assigns to me or the one that I assign to her. Hannah and I will give each other about a month to complete the assignment but you can take as long or as little time as you need. Heck, feel free to complete both assignments or combine them if you can! All we ask is a link back to which ever assignment you complete so we can enjoy reading your creativity too.
Oh, and if you do participate, don’t forget to take a copy of the beautiful badge that Hannah created and proudly display it with your writing assignment!
Here is the assignment for Hannah and anyone else brave enough to accept this challenge:
Please write a complaint letter addressed to the North Pole. This could be to Santa for forgetting an item on your list, or to Mrs. Claus regarding Santa’s disrespect of your home during his last visit, or to an elf, etc. Please be sure to address what exactly you are unhappy with, suggest possible remedies or improvements and keep a professional tone (you don’t want to risk losing out on any loot next year). Okay, take it from here! Good luck and have fun!
P.S. Don’t forget to check Hannah’s site to see if you’d like to do her assignment.

Great assignment, Teeni! I’m looking forward to working on it (when this CRAZY week is over … I am soooo behind in my work because of various other “things” that have cropped up at the last minute …)
Okay, off to post my assignment for you!
I hear ya - things are still busy around here too even though I thought things would slow down after the holidays a bit. LOL. OH well. I LOVE the assignment you gave me and am looking forward to working on it. It is very creative.
okay that assignment sounds easy enough to do
and I have been struggling for posts to write the last couple of days
Well, if you decide to do it, don’t forget to take a copy of the badge for yourself and link back so we all can read it!
ok, this looks like something I can do! Im heading for Hannah’s too! lOL
Please do join in, Calamity - the more the merrier! I look forward to seeing your letter to the North Pole!
Tee hee, these could be quite humourous!
Can’t wait to read them
What do you mean READ them? Aren’t you going to try and WRITE one? Huh? Aren’t ya? LOL. No pressure but I think it would be fun to read yours as well.
I am going to do it (tonight) but, you must promise me that you wont make fun of my writing skills
Who am I to make fun of anyone’s writing skills? I’m sure you will do fine. It should be interesting to see what you come up with.
LOL thats true but, yours are better then mine

Okay i wrote it but, have no idea why it sisnt link here? I didnt link it here
i meant i did LOL!
It’s here! It just temporarily got stuck in my moderation queue. Thanks, Kaylee! You did a good job on the assignment.
Hmmm - that’s a toughie. I don’t think I’ve ever written a complaint letter.
Really? Wow. Here’s your chance to write a pretend one and practice. Being able to write a good complaint letter can be beneficial. Of course, writing to let people know when you are happy is good too, but this is just for fun so go crazy with it and give it a shot!
Ooooh, fun! I completely crapped out on the first one, I believe I’ll join in for this one!
You know I’m gonna be looking forward to reading what you come up with! YAY!!!
Another meez I see - a saintly one if the halo is any guide to go by!
Oh yes, one must remain in a saintly state of mind when writing a complaint letter to the North Pole! LOL
I know, I know… I am so freakin’ busy right now though! If I need to vent I think the one to Santa might happen…but I am making no promises.
Next month I promise!
I was just teasing ya, Kami! No pressure, honestly. But I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t want to read yours!
I hope things slow down a little for you so you can relax. Hugs to you!!
Oh you girls, I can’t keep up with you. I may have to take a shot at yours though. It is intriguing. Let me think about it.
Annie
Oh, I hope you do it! That would be too cool. **prays in her little heart that WriterChick will join in** But no pressure.

I love this writing idea LOL! I am on the hook for hannah’s now too
now that i did one am i eligable to participate in every one of them from now on?
Of course! You are eligible to join into any of the writing assignments you like. We just ask for a link back so that we know and can go read your story too! That way everyone has fun. When I finish my assignment for Hannah, I will probably also post a list of links to the people who participated so maybe it will even generate a little traffic for everyone.
Oh I was so excited to start this assignment, Im already done *beams!* But it’s waiting in line to be posted .. couple more days!
Oh you are such a tease - don’t TELL me stuff like that! Now I’m gonna be waiting by my computer for days just so I can read your post as soon as it comes up! Sheesh. You people have no compassion for me. I would like to bathe and eat every so often ya know! LOL Seriously, I really AM excited to see what you’ve done with it, Ms. Red!
I think I will have to pass on this one. I am better at one or two sentence assignments.
Well, I can’t force you - but I will look for you for the next story game if you don’t join in on the writing assignment.
Thats what I thought too beth ellen, but, people actually liked mine. Or they lied to me?
