Kicking it Up and the Dropkick Murphys!

First, I’d like to direct your attention to my kickin’ new banner! This is the prize banner created for me by the AntiBarbie for the contest I won at her site. Remember that letter I wrote to Dear Shabby? To refresh your memory, here’s the letter along with Dear Shabby’s response. It was a fun and neat writing assignment and I’m so glad I participated because I got this lovely bling to show for it. Thanks, AntiBarbie! Side note: AntiBarbie is a phenomenal writer so if you haven’t visited her yet, you should check her out! (With this post, I realize that I never did post about Dear Shabby’s response to my letter and for that I apologize, but it isn’t too late for you to hit that link and see it for yourself!)

Next, I’d like to remind you that I’ve posted before about my cousin and his wife and how they are both musically inclined. Jeff has joined his wife, Michelle and her band, Straylight Run, on Conan O’Brien not that long ago.

Well, Straylight Run is still doing well and touring. But now Jeff has gone and joined the group, the Dropkick Murphys! This is especially exciting for TGH and I as TGH has loved the Dropkicks since they were a little known local group and he went and got me liking them too! Anyway, they made the official announcement at their site here - see the January 21 entry. So, I thought that was exciting news that I should share with all of my buddies!

    The banner ROCKS! Love it! It feels a bit funny to come here and not see pink & purple though … ;-)
    LOL. I felt the same way, Hannah - I had that banner for a long time and the colors were very homey to me. But this banner is beautiful too and it’s good to switch things up every so often. I promise I will try not to shock your systems all at once, though! :)

    Thanks, Paige! Yeah, but my Meez is a lip syncher. And she can’t really play the guitar - just Guitar Hero and Rock Band. So I don’t know if you really want her in your band. LOL. I need to send her to Meez Music University.
