100 Things About Me - Part 7 of 10 and the 7 Quirky Things Meme

Posted on March 2, 2008 - Filed Under 100 Things, Meme

Witchypoo tagged me for the 7 QuirkyThings Meme and I’m due for another installment of things about me anyway so I’m cheating again. The first seven will apply to the meme and then the ten as a whole are my latest installment of the 100 things about me. So, here you go!

  1. Although I rarely get sick in a car, plane, train, or boat, the right type of video game (or player) will definitely make me feel motion sick. Bleeeeccccchhh!
  2. We have (no exaggeration) seven remote controls in our living room, not including the remotes for the video game systems. I know how to use about half of them, like the fireplace and the ceiling fan.
  3. I can blow bubbles out of my right eye underwater.
  4. I have to clear all the dishes out of my sink before I can start dinner. I don’t know why and I don’t think I’m OCD. I think I just like have a clear place to start cuz I know it will get filled up again momentarily.
  5. I have absolutely no sense of direction. I don’t need a blindfold, either. Just spin me around three times and I’m lost. Once I worked at a building where the stairs were split and turned halfway up between each floor. I’d take the stairs for exercise but then forget which floor I was on when I got there because the wieners who designed the place made all the landings look alike. Even after you opened the door to get onto the floor, the carpet color was the same, and so were the partition walls. Uggh. Glad I don’t work there anymore.
  6. I’m a pretty good drummer at Rock Band.
  7. I had my favorite pair of Nike sneakers for about three years. I wore them almost every day. I refused to buy new ones because they stopped making the style I liked. When they finally introduced a style that was very similar to my favorites, I bought two pairs in different colors. Those are now long-gone too. I miss them. I also need new sneakers again.
  8. I hate circus peanuts and marshmallow peeps. They are too sugary and sweet for me. I don’t like the granular feel of sugar on my teeth. It’s like fingernails down a chalkboard.
  9. People like to give me things.
  10. I like to GET things. It all works out. ;)

The rules are as follows:

I can’t think of anyone who hasn’t done this one yet since I’m late to the game again. So I’ll just put you all on the honor system and if you haven’t done this one yet, then you know you should - so get to work! But let me know if you do, because I love reading these things when other people write them. My own, not so much. ;)

#3: Who knew you were such a freak of nature?
      Love love love it!

I know - that’s weird, huh? ;) Too bad it couldn’t be for anything worth money. LOL

      2. Yikes, that’s a LOT of remotes!
      3. I would LOVE to see that! How cool!
      4. Me too!
      6. Girl drummers ROCK!
      8. What are circus peanuts and marshmallow peeps like??

Yeup, lots of remotes. Can’t take them away from TGH now - you know - guy thing. ;) I’d have to try and arrange some kind of underwater video camera to record/display my eye bubble trick. Oh, here are some links (I hope you can see the green text), circus peanuts are awful - they taste like chewed up cardboard soaked in sugar. I’m sure some readers will disagree with me but ewwww - I do NOT like them. Marshmallow peeps are marshmallows shaped like little chicks and covered in yellow or pastel colored sugar. I think they also make little bunny shapes and things in addition to the chickies now but they all taste the same - gross. They are not high quality marshmallow and the sugar coating freaks me out.

Eww .. peeps and peanuts. Those are so gross!!!
Oh man, I loooove the remote controlled ceiling fans. We have them in all the rooms in our house!
Blowing bubbles outta your eye? yikes! Video op!!! :)
Oh, I’m so glad you don’t like them either. I was afraid I was going to get stoned for that - especially with Easter coming up.

#4 Is me too. #9 and #10? You crack me up! xxxx

Wow - another #4? I’m so glad I’m not alone. Oh, and seriously, I need to do a post about 9 and 10.

Shhh, there are more remotes teeni doesn’t know about. Most are put away because they are rarely used. The ceiling fan remote is actually mounted to the wall as you enter the room from the main part of the house. The person that built it only put a real lightswitch as you enter the house from the front door, which we never do, so it is very much a stationary switch at this point.

Hey! I can READ this too ya know! And at least the ceiling fan remote is always someplace I can FIND it (mounted to the wall)!!

You and TGH crack me up! Hee hee.

I love these kind of posts, but #3 kind of grosses me out. Just a little.
      :-)
      But I love ya anyway!

LOL. Thanks for loving me anyway, Kami. It kind of grosses me out too! I really wish I had a better claim to fame but that’s all I got. ;)

I also get a bit of motion sickness when playing video games, on the weekend there was an extreme Guitar Hero marathon at our house, my wrist hurts! And my stomach was swirling from concentrating on those damn colored dots…

I also have to do the dished before I start supper, I just need a clean work area!

LOL - Oh yeah - I saw your post! I guess you ignored all those warnings to take breaks (like I always do too)! ;)

I feel quite ill after reading about your eye bubbling. I’ve never heard of that before.

I think I could live without seeing it on youtube to be honest.

LOL. Don’t worry - I’m not going to put it on youtube. You know, unless the right offer happen$ to come along. ;) Sorry to gross you out, but it IS a quirky thing and so it fit into the meme. Besides, I’m running out of the attractive things about me to post about in my 100 things, you know like how I wear the same sneakers for three years. ;)

I have no sense of direction too! I continue to get lost in the city I just but all grew up in.

Hehee - Princess Chaos. Well, that makes sense. :) Welcome to the club.

Can we get a recording of your drum playing? :)
Well, I don’t think it would sound all that good without the rest of Rock Band playing in the background. But if you really want to torture yourself I’ll try and find a way. LOL

    11. Hannah (362 comments.) on March 4th, 2008 2:56 am

Thanks for the links for those candies … both sound disgusting if you ask me!! ;-)
I sure think so. When it comes to candy, give me a good chocolate truffle or something like that. ;)

i’m so jealous that you rock at rock band. i suck. big time. funny i always thought my groupie days would come in handy at some point. apparently not.

Hey Zoe! How are you doing? LOL. Well, I said I was “pretty good.” But I don’t see any “air bands” knocking down my door to hire me. I have a hubby who enjoys playing it and always lets me do the drums so the practice is good for me. However, I doubt I could make a real drum sound good. It’s all a lot of fun anyway though!

I guess I don’t quite understand what this Rock Band thingy is. :)
Rock Band is a video game where they give you a pretend guitar, pretend drum set and a pretend microphone. With the drums and guitar, you need to hit keys or drums that correspond to the notes that cross the television screen at the exact time to score well. With the microphone, you just sing into it (it displays the words to songs like karaoke) and it somehow can tell whether you are hitting notes or not. You can have a bunch of people play together, forming a band, or play alone. TGH and I play as a band with him on guitar and me on drums. Then he also plays alone on drums as well in another “band.” It’s a lot of fun.
