The Archive Meme

Posted on March 24, 2008 - Filed Under Meme

I was tagged by Paige at Eat, Bitch, & Whine for this Archive Meme. This meme is a little different and I like it because I always wonder how to get new readers to know you better without reposting things you’ve already written about. Ever want to learn more about your favorite bloggers but just can’t find the time to wallow through their archives? Well, here is the perfect way. This meme takes you back to a few posts so you can learn a little more (but not too much at once, cuz that could be dangerous! LOL). This is how it works:

1. Go through your archives and link to five of your favorite posts that you have written.

2. Tag five other people to do this meme. Two of them must be people you already know so that you can get to know each other better.

Here are my picks for this meme.

Family: My hubby, of course

Friends: How I Met One Good Blogging Buddy

Yourself: I Probably Look Up to You

Something I Love: I’m All About the Fun and Games

My Choice: I Thought This Came Out Pretty Good, In My Not So Humble Opinion ;)
Now the tagging starts. ;)
I’m going to tag the following people who I want to know more about:

Annie at Writer Chick Talks

Romi at Year of the Chick

FourLeafClover

Cowgal at Cowgal Land

Beth Ellen at the Eclectic Studio Cafe

I have been enjoying each of these blogger’s posts but I admit I don’t have the time to go through all of their archives. However, I’d love to get to know them better and here is one way to do a little bit of that. I hope you all can give them a read too. Oh yeah, if you like this meme and I didn’t tag you, then you are always free to steal it. :)

Definitely good choices there - I love all of those posts of yours. But especially the last one … with very good reason!!!! ;-)
Ah, just allowing myself a little “flashback” … running off into the sunset with an oh-so-hot structural engineer turned misunderstood fugitive … sigh!

Hehee. I think I just enjoy your responses to that last one so much! ;)

Geez Teens, I must have meme radar or something. I came over here, as if by command and here I am tagged again. Dang it, girl, you a the Meme Queen.

I’ll do mine in the next couple of days.

    Annie

No problem and no rush, as always, Annie. :) I haven’t gone to everyone’s site to notify them yet! You really do have meme radar! ;)

Oooh, this is a fun meme. And I do remember the posts that you linked to. I try to go through archives the best I can.

You are good, Ms. Red. I seem to have gotten new friends in bunches and never have enough time to check them all out going back into the Archives. I do try to do the best I can and look back as much as I can, but these types of memes sure help a lot. ;)

Aww, thanks Kami! I’m very behind on my meme-ing. I still have a couple more to go. Yikes!

One about friends (this isn’t REALLY about “friends”, but at one point I reference that I was “with my work friends at the time”, so I think that qualifies….LOL, I think I’m just really self-involved and only write about myself, haha ;-)

I enjoyed reading your five posts. I got to know a lot more about you. Your hubby sounds like a sweetie.

My daughter just bought a card table so we can start playing board games. So far we have Trivial pursuit, some newer version of it, pictionary and scrabble. She might have more that I don’t know about. I play scrabble every day with my son on Facebook because he lives in Buffalo and I am on Cape Cod. We each take a turn every night.

I loved the writing and the poetry too. I’m 5′4″ in all directions but I am losing weight every week. I have to go to bed soon or I will eat something, anything actually, my yellow post it notes are starting to look good to me. They probably have a lot of fiber in them LOL.

Ahh, Joan - you are a riot! What a great comment. I know the feeling and post its really can look tempting sometimes! LOL. So glad you came by. Don’t stop! :)

very interesting…. i admit to being guilty of not going thru the archives of blogs i like as well…

Hey - we all only have so much time, right? That’s why I like this type of meme. :)

  13. lumpylumps on March 29th, 2008 5:11 am

Teeni, this is great! I realize I don’t read through the archives as much as I enjoy reading the “about” pages… makes me feel like I know bloggers better! Also, makes me realize we have lots in common.

Well, I have a feeling it would be tough for anyone to go through my archives. I used to blog sometimes a couple times a day, every day! Who has that much time? LOL. That’s why memes like this one are useful. I’m not surprised to find we have lots in common. ;) I knew I liked you! LOL.

Okay Teens, I’m gonna be tackling this one today.
    WC

Yay! Can’t wait to see earlier posts from you! :)

  15. Fourleafclover (13 comments.) on March 31st, 2008 11:06 pm

Thanks for the tag. I’ll try to get to it but I can’t promise immediate results.

Hey Fourleaf! I totally understand about that. If you can get around to it, please do - but if not, no big deal. I have been tagged many times myself so I know how time consuming these can be and I never want to pressure anyone. But I just had to be honest in saying who I’d like to read so I had to tag ya! ;)
