Anniversary and A Decision!

First of all, a big

to all of you who took the time to respond to my question about responses to comments in the comment area, especially on a weekend. I appreciate all your input!
My decision at this time is to continue to respond to comments in the comment area and keep the open forum discussion area (to that end, I’ve gone back and commented on most of the posts since I moved to my new space). That being said, I don’t expect everyone to come back and view comments all the time as we all have busy lives and don’t have time with the many blogs we read. But I like the discussion to be there for newcomers and in case someone does come back and check. Also, I love interacting with you all there.
But I am sensitive to any of your concerns and I resolve to use an email response in the following situations:
- delicate matters
- time-sensitive matters (may use both the comment area and email so as not to miss you)
- if I think you can’t possibly live without my witty response (don’t worry - I can’t see your email inbox getting full of these from me, LOL)
- there may also be other reasons I may not have encountered or thought of yet
That sounds fair, right?
I also will not individually thank each and every comment-tater tot when I could just as easily thank everyone at once. I’m sure none of you are thrilled with reading thank yous to thank yous. So unless it is an original or personal sentiment, I will try not to do that.
Now, for those of you wondering how TGH spent our anniversary, don’t worry I am not going to give you too much information! LOL.
What I will tell you is that we started the day with a sweet breakfast! TGH got me this lovely and delicious edible arrangement that I got to sleep in and eat. Yum!
Next, we went to the Boston Museum of Science. I loved that place as a kid. Unfortunately, while we were there I kept thinking how it used to seem so much bigger when I was a kid. LOL. Guess I’m getting old. Also, I noticed some of the plaques had misspelled words on them (not that I’m the best speller, but you would think for a museum, a little extra care would be taken to spell check a plaque that would be used for many years. So I started to wonder about the quality of the place and thinking it may be going downhill. Oh well. Let’s just hope it’s just me getting a little too picky in my old age. I took a picture of one of the misspellings and was going to post it here but I feel disloyal doing that because I used to love the place so much. LOL. Anyway, it was the word hollow misspelled as hollaw. I also noticed many things seemed to be written in a broken awkward English, like it had been translated from another language that didn’t come across very cleanly. Well, enough negativity for this post, it’s actually giving me a TFFP (Topic For a Future Post).
Next, TGH took me to the Grezzo Restaurant in Boston’s North End. This is no ordinary restaurant. It’s one I have wanted to try because I love trying new things. This restaurant is a totally raw, organic and vegan restaurant! I was thrilled that TGH was taking me because, well, if you only knew TGH’s picky eating habits, you could then appreciate this leap he made in being willing to endure and attempt a meal that was so far a reach from his normal dining element. The man is awesome I tell you.
Sooo….my next post should hopefully be a review of the Grezzo Restaurant and will include several photos of the food. Consider yourself warned and don’t come hungry!

It sounds like you are really happy with your decision about comments. I think it seems to be the best one for you and for the Tea Room. Now I feel a bit bad because I just don’t have time to respond individually to all my comments on my blog, and since I read a couple of people say that they are really put off bloggers who don’t do that … well, let’s just say I packed my bags and went on a guilt trip. But hey, I know that my readers and commenters know I appreciate them. At least I hope they do!!
I love the edible arrangement - I have never seen anything like that before but it is a wonderful idea! And I look forward to reading your review of the restaurant. Glad you & TGH had a nice day together!
I guess I’m pulling an all-nighter tonight! LOL.
Aww Hannah - don’t you go and feel bad about how you do things at your site. You have lots of loyal commenters (you get many more than I do on each post) and they keep coming back (myself included) so obviously we are not getting a cold feeling from you and we totally understand the lack of time issue. I think it’s all different for different people. I have felt coldness at some blogs before when they haven’t responded to comments in the comments section but certainly not ALL blogs. I can honestly say that I haven’t felt that feeling at any of my blog buddy’s places (regardless of how they respond to comments) or they sure wouldn’t be my blog buddies today.
The whole edible arrangement thing is relatively new (it’s been around for a few years now) but it’s very popular - they make a pretty arrangement of fruit on skewers - perfect for a get well gift or a BBQ, or a variety of occasions.
Ooops sorry I am a bit late here, aren’t I?
Happy Anniversary for several days ago!! It sounds like it was a wonderful day.
With regard to comments - I really do think with blogging that everyone should do it exactly how it feels best for them. But since you did actually ask - I do personally prefer it when people reply in their own comment boxes as it does sometimes encourage a bit of a discussion and also to me it just seems the obvious thing to do. I always reply to mine just because to me it seems the polite thing to do. But I do not get offended if others do not take the same approach. If I visit a blog it is because I like to read what someone has written and I would not be put off by a lack of response to a comment.
You are never too late to get here, RB!
Thanks so much for the good wishes. You have a great balanced view of the commenting thing, in my opinion. Thanks for your input. I appreciate it.
SO lovely how you and TGH celebrated your anniversary - sounds quite fun!
Ahh, you KNOW that I can’t wait for your Grezzo review - my kind of place, for sure!! :0)
LOL! I thought it would catch your attention as well as a couple of others.
Sounds like a great day for you and TGH, though the spelling mistakes would bother me too!
I am interested in the restaurant review, I am with TGH, that would be out of my comfort zone!
C’mon, wouldn’t you be curious to try it and see if it tasted any good? LOL
Not everyone has all the time in the world to respond to comments. I will keep leaving comments on the blogs I like because I know you all appreciate them. I don’t need a response from you to know that. I am fortunate to have such great blog friends. I just happen to have all the time in the world. Being retired is far from boring for me. Though I do spend a good part of my day on the blogs (I won’t even tell you how many hours). All I have to do at home is cook supper, grocery shop (which I love because I always get to see people I know–small town)and my daughter’s laundry when she let’s me. She’s always afraid I am doing to much.
Now to my original point, especially to Hannah–don’t go on any guilt trips. I can think of better trips for you to go on.
To Teeni, I didn’t realize you lived in Massachusetts or if I did I forgot (that bad memory thing won’t go away.)Or maybe you don’t live in MA but near it. Anyway My wasband eats in the North End but he would never put his foot into a restaurant that doesn’t sell meat. He lives on meat and Chips Ahoy.
But I will look forward to your review as I am trying to eat healthier myself. Your edible bouquet looked healthy, all those strawberries and pineapples, my two favorite fruits.
Yup! I’m in MA. Don’t feel bad, I’ve got a horrible memory myself.
Thanks for responding to Hannah too. You said it much better than I did. I love that line, “I can think of better trips for you to go on.” I have to admit, I’ve been eating a lot more raw foods lately, but the very plain way, like fruit and veggies just the way they are, you know? So this whole thing about the way the raw foods would be dressed up and prepared in a restaurant devoted to raw foods definitely interests me. I’m going to use what is left of my edible bouquet to make a breakfast smoothie tomorrow! Yum.
I am glad you and your hubby had a good time on your anniversary
I cannot wait for that review even though I will be down for a few days after today
Thank you, Kaylee. The review will be waiting for you. I hope you are not down for long.
Happy anniversary my friend(S)! I loved those wedding pics, you both looked gorgeous! Golly teeni, that fruit arrangement is totally awesome! You are right, what a guy
Love how he made it all about you, I imagine Mr Music would rather die than go to that restaraunt, but he would for me, I think, lol. Can’t wait to hear about it and see the pics! YUM!
Thanks so much, Hay! You always make me smile.
I can certainly understand Mr. Music and my TGH’s apprehension. I would never have been so adventurous myself a few years ago. But you know, it sure makes life interesting and if we try things we don’t like we just know not to repeat those things. I’m so glad Mr. Music would go out of his comfort zone for you. You are certainly worth it and I’m sure he realizes that.
Oooh…were those heart-shaped thingys pineapples? That edible arrangement looks delectable! And I have to say, you and TGH sound soooo cute…like I LOVE doing things like going to museums, that might actually be on my list of activities to do on an anniversary, you’re awesome
Yes, those ARE pineapples! Don’t they look neat! I forgot to mention that we took in a laser show at the museum while we were there. It was set to the music of U2. I think you would have enjoyed it and yes, you definitely should do things like go to museums and stuff. Even if you don’t appreciate all the things you try, you will have fun and make great memories!
Hugs to you!
Your husband is sweet. Just loved this post. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. How romantic is it that he went out of his way to make it so special and centered around his sweetheart? SO NICE! I’m really happy for you both
LOL
Aww, thanks JQ! He really is sweet. I guess I’ll keep him another year!
Aww … what sweet pictures!! You made for a beautiful bride!
I like when you comment within the comments
Thanks, Red! I appreciate your input and I’m glad you like the way I respond to comments because that is how I’m going to continue.
Dangit! I just noticed I commented on the wrong post!
Anyhow … for THIS post, my comment: Yes, TGH is awesome for showing you mucho love on your Anniversary. Congrats you two!
LOL. No worries about where you comment. Thanks - he really is awesome. A definite keeper.
That sounds like a wonderful anniversary! Those edible “flowers” looked yummy!
Paige, I don’t know if you’ve seen these arrangements before but sometimes they do make the pineapples into flower shapes!
congrats on the anniversary!
Remind me to update my blog with your new address.. i keep forgetting!
Thanks! Done!
Wow, you guys did have quite the fun day! I love days where you can just relax and enjoy time with your loves ones. It is the simple things that are the most precious. I am glad you had a great time!
Thanks, Talina. I totally agree, simple=precious.
