100 Things About Me - Part 8 of 10

Posted By Teeni on June 27, 2008

It’s been a while, but I haven’t forgotten. I will finish this thing up eventually! Here’s the 8th piece of my 100 things.

  1. All of my cats have been named after foods since I was a kid. Right now I have Toast, my male ginger cat and Jam, my female calico.
  2. We once had a pet cockatiel that we thought was a boy. After about 4 years, “Duncan” started laying eggs. Her name was already too much of a habit to change by then.
  3. My cousins had a cat, named Elvis, with the same problem except she had kittens; she didn’t lay eggs. ;)
  4. I once touched an electric fence and didn’t realize what happened. So I touched it again. And then once more just for fun. D’oh.
  5. I do not like candy corns. I think they taste like wax.
  6. I love the Hampster Dance song. It always makes me happy. It’s so silly and fun. Here’s a piece of it if you don’t know what it is.
  7. I used to be incredibly quiet and barely spoke.
  8. I bet some of you don’t believe me about #7. ;)
  9. I just last year tried peanut butter and banana on toast for the first time. I liked it. A lot. :)
  10. I am not allergic to poison ivy. I hope it stays that way!

    I LOVE #1, and I’m glad about #9!

I definitely spend too much time thinking about, making, eating, and cleaning up after making FOOD! LOL

  2. Bethy (41 comments.) says:

I certainly don’t believe #7. Well, I am a quiet person too but still am. If you get to know me I can talk and like to make people laugh or otherwise philosophize with them. :)
I’m glad I’ve gotten to know you and hope to continue!

  3. Bethy (41 comments.) says:

I meant to say I was quiet when younger. :)
    Gotcha! ;)

I wasn’t allergic to poison ivy for the longest time. I would play in the same woods with my friends and siblings and they would all come down with it whilst I stayed rash free.

Then about 6 years ago I developed a horrible rash on my forearms and hands. I had no idea what it was until I went to the doctor. Who told me, of course, that it was poison ivy.

I think it’s payback for losing my hayfever allergies. Fucking body always fucking changing.

I’ve heard of people developing an allergy to it - that’s why I say I “hope it stays that way” when I say I’m not allergic to it. It looks painful to me. Yikes.

Me and my brothers used to hold hands and then touch the elecrical fence… acting as a current to eventually lead a big STRONG zap to my littlest brother…sigh…we were so mean. :D
Really? You can DO that? I had no idea! Oh, I am so going to misuse this information when I get a chance! LOL.

I was a number 7 too. You’d never know it now. I think it’s fun that you name all your cats after food. I don’t like candy korn either. That would have been cool if Elvis laid eggs. I guess you just like to get zapped. Great list!!

Glad you liked my list, Joan! Funny thing is that once I touched the fence, I felt a little something but didn’t realize it was an electric fence so I wasn’t sure what was going on. The second time I touched it, I think I figured it out, but then couldn’t believe it didn’t hurt much - just felt funny so I had to try it again. I’m just a slow learner, I guess. LOL.

Surely #7 can’t be true! At least not now. I guess you very well could have been a quiet person in the past, but you are so friendly and chatty online that I don’t believe you wouldn’t be the same in real life. I’d LOVE to have a real-life chat with you, I think you’d be so much fun to talk with!

You know I feel the same way about you, Hannah. I find it hard to believe that I was that quiet myself sometimes. Life is certainly different for me now but in mostly better ways. :)

I hope you are done touching the electric fences Teeni! :)
I like that you name your pets after food - a girl after my own heart!
Have a fantastic weekend, I love these posts where I can learn more about you!

Yeup - food is a big priority for me. LOL. And yeah, I think I’m done with the electric fences for now - unless I can find a way to misuse the information that the Diva gave me in her comment, MUhahaha! heehee.

I love the Hamster dance song too!!

YAY! I’m glad I’m not the only one. It really is so silly and cheerful - it is the best for dancing around the house doing housework! LOL. We all need our little sanity breaks, don’t we?

  10. Red (36 comments.) says:

Im not allergic to poison ivy either.
    Thank goodness!!!
Mister is . He gets it everywhere .. even on wanker. *shakes head*

Ouch! That sounds really painful. Isn’t it weird how someone you are intimate with can get it like that and you don’t? It’s kinda cool though - makes me feel special. I’m glad we share that trait. :)

I love peanut butter and banana on toast! Dang it. now Im hungry! LOL

Right after I wrote that, I wanted some too! :)

  12. Kami (355 comments.) says:

Teeni, I was quiet too when I was younger and in some social situations I still am. I am glad I came out of my shell and glad you did too or we might not know each other.

Hope you are enjoying your blogging break!

Aw, Kami! Me too - I’m so glad we came out of our shells! I hate to think of the things I would have missed.

  13. Merri (41 comments.) says:

    I sensed that about you..#7 I mean!
So YES I do beleive you!
(The reason I sensed it is because I am psychic.)
That may or may NOT be true..LOL!
But I ALSO used to be quiet and didn’t say much; now watch out!
EEK about the electric fence…hope the urge never happens again!
PB and banana on toast? One of my fav breakkies..lol.

I forgot how funny you can be and this business about being psychic and how it may or may not be true really cracked me up. :) PB & Banana on toast is now one of my favorites too. I actually may have some for lunch - it doesn’t have to be just for breakfast anymore, right? :)

  14. Reluctant Blogger (32 comments.) says:

I used to be very quiet and shy too as a child.

I have no idea if I am allergic to poison ivy.

My cat, Trefor had kittens too. He was very proud!

ROFL - I bet you were surprised about Trefor’s kittens. He had every right to be proud! LOL. I don’t know what to tell you about the poison ivy because I wouldn’t want you catching it, but if you’ve spent any time in the woods with others who have gotten it all around you, you may not be allergic to it.

  15. 2lazydogs (49 comments.) says:

#7 - me, too! In fact, I couldn’t even go through a drive-thru and place an order…I was THAT shy. Now I’m completely the opposite!

Wow - that is pretty shy. My love of food would have forced me to overcome that problem pretty quickly though. LOL. Anyway, I’m glad you aren’t that shy anymore. :) :) :)

  16. Ariell (70 comments.) says:

#4) I backed up into an electric fence. it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

Yeah - really not so painful - more like a funny buzzing or something. That’s why I had to keep touching the dang thing. I couldn’t believe it. LOL.

  17. Paige Stanton (100 comments.) says:

I love these! I used to name my stuffed animals after food, I had a polar bear named Parsley.

Aw, Parsley the Polar Bear! That is adorable! Leave it to you to think of that, Paige. You have an uncommon mind and I love that about you!

  18. Sterling "Chip" Camden (61 comments.) says:

#4 - we used to pee on them when I was a kid. Just for fun.
    #9 - FTW.

Really? What happens when you pee on them? **thinks I may have to learn how to direct a stream of urine in the future for some evil purpose**

And what does FTW mean? Forgive me for being slow, but I’ve never seen that before!

  19. Hay (55 comments.) says:

I thought everyone was allergic to poison ivy! Lol. I did laugh at the electric fence bit!

I guess not everyone is although it is a pretty common allergy. And yeah, about the electric fence, I’m not always the brightest of bulbs.

  20. Peter Parkour (115 comments.) says:

Duncan has a donut. :P That worked out kinda good. ;)
LOL! Leave it to you to think of that! Good one though. ;)
