Teeni Reveals All!

Posted on July 15, 2008 - Filed Under Contest

Oh my gawds. My Meez is such a shameless little hussy! That’s not at all what I meant by “reveals all!” I have censored out her naughty bits so you can still use your hands on the mouse and keyboard without having to cover your eyes. I do apologize for her exhibitionist behavior. Sometimes I think she’s got a mind of her own.  Keep it up, ya little tramp, and I’ll put ya back to sleep!  ;)

Now on to the real revelations. Many of you may have already guessed that the break I took from blogging (my “project”) may have actually involved some type of vacation. In that case, many of you would be RIGHT! However, it still was quite a “project” in all that it involved in preparation, such as obtaining passports, planning for the care of our cats, yard, plants, packing, reading up on travel security, etc. That part was kind of exhausting. But now TGH and I are back, all relaxed and ready for more fun. Am I going to tell you where we went? Well, sure … eventually!

First I’m going to post some pictures and see if anyone can guess where we were. It’s a contest! I’m sorry the prize can’t be bigger but it will be a souvenir from our travels, made right where we were and it is appropriate to this blog. So, no new cars or Magic Bullets, sorry to say. But it is a really cute prize. To be fair, this is only open to people who have previously commented on my blog. Even if your first comment was made just recently (even today before this gets posted), then you are qualified to participate in the contest.

Okay, so I’ll start off with these pics here and see if you can guess. Please use the comments area for guessing as it knows the time and puts the comments in order (no math or heavy thinking for me, I just came back from vacation after all - sheesh). One place per comment, please and do try to be fair and not send several guesses in a row because sometimes that puts you in the spaminator. If nobody guesses it, then I will add more photos after a certain time. Okay, here we go!

At first I wa going to say Victoria, BC, but the pineapple? Well, it might grow in Butchart Gardens in Victoria. Last comment afore i hit the road.

Sorry, that’s not it. I hope you have a safe trip!

  2. TGH on July 15th, 2008 10:31 am

Umm, based on your Meez, are you trying to say that you went to a nude beach without me?

Silly man, you were with me all the time. When would I have had time for that? :)

  3. Talina (79 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 10:42 am

Um, Mexico is my pick… I used google to help me. ;-)
    Nice try. But, nope! :)

  4. CuriousC (36 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 11:00 am

Ah, somewhere NOT in the USofA, somewhere warm, that grows pineapples. Do I have to be more specific?

LOL! Yes, C, you must be more specific. :D

  5. B.E. Earl (49 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 11:23 am

OK…putting on my Sherlock Holmes hat.

From the first picture of the cactus or succulent, I can deduce that the location is warm or hot for a portion of the year.

From the second picture I can deduce that tea is important to the local culture. Maybe a British colony? Hmmm.

The third picture doesn’t give me much more than the first picture, but pineapples are native to South and Central America and have become mainstream in the South Pacific islands and the Caribbean.

The fourth picture is a nice picture of a wave. Could be anywhere in the world that has waves, but I’m gonna assume it’s an island you were visiting.

OK. I’m going to focus on the “tea” clue and the “pineapple” clue. Let’s eliminate anywhere in the South Pacific as most of those islands were colonized by the Spanish and the French. That leaves the Caribbean and the Atlantic.

I immediately thought of Bermuda, but it has more of a sub-tropical climate than a tropical one. I would think that pineapples and cacti (or succulents) prefer a warmer setting.

That led me to the British Virgin Islands. So I’m gonna pick the biggest one for my guess which is…

    …Tortola!

    What do I win? ;)

Wow! I am duly impressed with your deducting reasoning because it is WAY better than mine. But that doesn’t change the fact that you still win NADA! ;)

Hawaii, Hawaii, Hawaii! No no no, wait that’s not my guess!! You guys wouldn’t need a passport for that… Brazil. That’s it! Brazil is my final answer…

I’m sorry - that’s not right either. You guys are way better than I would be though.

  7. Paige Stanton (63 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 11:52 am

P.S. Tell b.e. earl he’s a dork, what a nerdy answer he gave. : ) And BTW, I LOVE your Meez, I saw those were available but I didn’t know how I wanted to use it, you’re idea to “reveal all” was awesome!

LOL. I thought he put a lot of work into his answer though. He deserves some credit for that! :) Thanks about the Meez. This opportunity just seemed to present itself. LOL. She IS a little hussy though. ;)

  8. dcr (53 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 11:55 am

Pineapples didn’t originate in Hawaii… but they did on this island nation where cacti also grow… Plus the window looks caribbean in design to me…

    So, my guess is Jamaica.

Who said anything about origins? They do grow where I was but I don’t think they originated there. So, sorry - good guess, Dan. But you are wrong.

  9. B.E. Earl (49 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 12:09 pm

Crap! If I had to guess again I would say Anguila, but dcr is probably right with Jamaica.

    Crap!

Good thing you didn’t have to guess again then, cuz you’d be WRONG! ;)

  10. dcr (53 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 12:19 pm

Then it must be the Cayman Islands!

    No, it mustn’t! ;)

  11. dcr (53 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 12:55 pm

I have two others, but I think I’m limited to one at a time, so I’ll guess the one I think perhaps more likely. Belize?

Wow - all this power is starting to go to my head! I’m starting to enjoy this! I feel like the woman on “The Weakest Link.” She’s so mean. Muhahaha! Oh, and maybe you should try the other guess. ;)

  12. birdpress (36 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 1:16 pm

I’m terrible at geography! I’ll take a wild guess… Cancun?

I’m terrible at geography too, so don’t feel bad! But this isn’t right either so feel free to take another wild guess. :)

  13. Bethy (34 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 1:52 pm

    My back yard?

    LOL. Nope!

  14. Bethy (34 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 1:59 pm

We need more clues, like a map.

Nah - you guys don’t need maps! :)

  15. birdpress (36 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 2:00 pm

    Ummmm… Jamaica?

Nope. Not there. Good try though.

  16. MacBros (51 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 2:24 pm

    Cuba?

    Nuh-uh. ;)

  17. B.E. Earl (49 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 2:53 pm

    OK…official guess coming here.

    Barbados.

    Barba-No. heehee

  18. 2lazydogs (21 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 3:28 pm

I’m guessing Tahiti. Because it starts with a “T”!

Ooooo - if I were giving out bonus points you would get some for that just because that was cool thinking but you’re wrong and I am not giving out bonus points. I only have one prize to give away. Sorry. Try again.

  19. Hay (47 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 3:38 pm

    Majorca

Why? Um I dunno, it’s what google said when I typed in pineapple teapot island…lol! That and Taiwan…but you wouldn’t go to Taiwan would you?

LOL. Too funny, Hay! But no and I never have considered going to Taiwan. Who knows? ;)

  20. Peter Parkour (42 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 3:45 pm

    Australia? :)

Nope. Although I’d love to go there sometime. :)

  21. joanharvest (47 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 4:13 pm

    Costa Rica is my guess.

    Sorry, Joan. Not there either.

  22. Hannah (319 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 4:23 pm

Hmmm, not sure! Some good guesses have been made. I will say somewhere in the South Pacific!

You are right that lots of good guesses have been made but that is not a specific enough answer to really qualify so I will pretend I didn’t see this. You can try again. I think I may have to post more pictures tomorrow and see if anyone gets it then. ;)

  23. kaylee (323 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 7:20 pm

    I have no idea!

I think everyone is stumped right now! :)

  24. B.E. Earl (49 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 8:53 pm

OK…last guess of the day. It’s a far-fetched one, but I’m giving it a go anyway.

Pitcairn Island. Home of the descendents of the Bounty mutineers.

    What did I win? ;)

Got to hand it to you for coming up with these but, no, wrong again!

  25. Hay (47 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 8:57 pm

    Cornwall?
    Don’t even ask!

Sorry Hay. It’s a no on Cornwall. But I love how you guys are really reaching for it. ;)

  26. dcr (53 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 9:15 pm

    Honduras?

Nope. But don’t give up. More pics to come tomorrow.

  27. Leaf, pobably.com (17 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 9:50 pm

    Rarotonga! or Fiji!

Nope and nope, believe it or not! ;)

  28. dcr (53 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 10:08 pm

The Bahamas? It couldn’t be that obvious, could it?

Nah, I wouldn’t go that easy on you guys - you’re all too smart and there would be no contest.

  29. Evyl (50 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 10:12 pm

    Muleshoe, Texas?

No. Is there really a place called Muleshoe? Do mules live there? Do they wear shoes?

  30. Bethy (34 comments.) on July 15th, 2008 11:03 pm

The land where the pineapples roam?

No, now you’re just being silly. ;)

  31. Bob on July 16th, 2008 4:45 am

The pineapple is native to southern Brazil and Paraguay where wild relatives occur. It was spread by the Indians up through South and Central America to the West Indies before Columbus arrived. In 1493 Columbus found the fruit on the island of Guadaloupe and carried it back to Spain and it was spread around the world on sailing ships that carried it for protection against scurvy. The Spanish introduced it into the Philippines and may have taken it to Hawaii and Guam early in the 16th Century. The pineapple reached England in 1660 and began to be grown in greenhouses for its fruit around 1720.

I know where you went , but that would be cheating…lol

Yeah, I think you are disqualified. But nice homework on the pineapple. I think we may have too much stress on the pineapple. I’m going to put up some new photos.

  32. CuriousC (36 comments.) on July 16th, 2008 6:40 am

    ARuba!?

    Nope, sorry. :)

  33. Calamity (121 comments.) on July 16th, 2008 5:01 pm

now my mind is racing! LOL I need to think….dont panic if you smell smoke….

LOL. I’ve missed you! Nice to see ya! Take your time and take a guess. I can’ t believe nobody has gotten it yet!

  34. Merri (15 comments.) on July 16th, 2008 5:48 pm

Every guess has already been taken, EXCEPT for, Puerto Rico???

    Not Puerto Rico!

  35. Evyl (50 comments.) on July 16th, 2008 8:00 pm

Yes there is a Muleshoe, Texas. It is the home of Lee Horsley. Now if that ain’t a claim to fame, I don’t know what is.

Well, sheesh, it’s like the perfectly named place for him! I love learning little things like this. They’re painless, interesting, and fun. Thanks, Evyl!

  36. joanharvest (47 comments.) on July 17th, 2008 10:49 am

    Dominica?

Oops. But by now you know that is late and we have a winner.

  37. writerchick (18 comments.) on July 17th, 2008 5:52 pm

Well, I know I’m late to the party but I’m guessing Hawaii. I don’t expect a prize and honest, I didn’t look at anyone else’s guesses either.
    Annie

It was a good guess Annie - but I’m sorry that wasn’t it.
