I’m Brillante
Posted on August 1, 2008 - Filed Under Award
Isn’t this pretty? My friend Laura at The Poet Laura-eate has bestowed upon me a most prestigious award. It has the word, “brillante,” in it so I find that highly prestigious. I think (hope) it is Spanish for “brilliant.”
Also, I did try to track down the origins of this award but I got lost after a while.
Now, Laura, is a wonderful writer and poet. She also has a keen sense of humor. Her posts are intelligent and witty and fun. If you are looking for a good quality read, then please do check her out. Thank you for the award, Laura. I love it and will pass it on to the following fine bloggers:
Wendy at Life with Buck - With her conversations with her husband, Buck, her life observations, her witticisms and sarcasm, Wendy’s blog is a real treat - her new adventures with a video camera are promising to be lots of fun!
VeggieGirl - VeggieGirl is a young vegan who likes to bake with a passion, can’t get the girl out of the kitchen (new possible tagline for ya there, VeggieGirl, LOL). She is also a great writer. Check out her pics - it’s hard to believe some of those goodies are actually vegan. Visiting her blog, you immediately pick up on the care she puts into her culinary treats and the love she has for her family and friends.
Moonbeam McQueen - I’m newer to Moonbeam’s blog but had been seeing her name and comments all over the place. I’m glad I checked out her abode because it is becoming one of my favorite places to visit.
Red at Dr. Pepper is Good for the Soul - Red’s writing is brilliant, in my opinion. Her topics are not the usual fodder and she can spin a haiku like nobody’s business.
Odette at Little Miss Firefly - Odette keeps a classy, uplifting, sweet, and crafty blog. It is always a pleasure to visit and hear the sincerity in her posts. She has recently been reunited with her hubby in a new land and is on a new adventure.
I also have a couple of gentlemen to hand this award to:
Evyl at From Evyl with Love - This guy can is King of Tasteless Poetry the same way that I’m Queen of “So Bad It’s Almost Good” poetry. Also, there is always lots of audience participation at Evyl’s going on.
Dan at dcrblogs - Dan’s got a lot going on at his blog and he is an active blogger, sometimes posting multiple times in a day. There are tips, stories, games and contests always going on over there.
Bug-Eyed Earl ’s Bug-Eyed Blog - Bug-Eyed Earl, who really isn’t Bug-Eyed (I know, I asked) has movie reviews, opinions, and fun topics for all at his blog. I just read that he is going to institute some changes at his place, but judging by the fact that he’s been blogging for three years, I am sure the changes will be good. Keep an eye on this guy.
Congrats everyone! Enjoy your awards!

Thanks! I just got the same award from someone who lives in Italy, so maybe it’s Italian in origin? I dunno.
And I agree about Evyl’s blog. One of my current favorites. Really lets me get, um, my freak on.
You’re welcome and yes, Evyl’s is definitely one place you can feel free to do that. I like that he is creative and engages everyone too.
HOORAY FOR A BLOGGING AWARD!!! You’re fabulous, and deserve it immensely :0)
Teeni, your words have touched me deeply - thank you so much for the award!!
You’re most welcome!
Brilliante, I love it!
Thanks, Marie. I’m finally getting around to adding you to my “new reads” on my blogroll. I’m slooooow.
i agree with all your picks except the Bug Eyed one.. he sucks!
Now, now. Do I detect a little award envy? LOL. Don’t worry Slyde - you’re still one of my faves.
Wow! Thanks!
B.E. Earl might be right. Could be Spanish or Italian, not really sure. Both are “Romance” languages, derived from Latin, so it could go either way. Did you know that English, which is germanic in origin, is 60% Latin?
LOL. I know it is to ME, anyway. Sometimes I don’t even understand what I’m saying. So that makes sense that it is 60% Latin. I wouldn’t understand it because I’m not German. I’ll ask my husband.
Aw Shucks Teeni, it’s no less than you deserve! Thank you for your lovely words (though must admit my current posting is not a barrel of laughs)
Look forward to checking out your awardees!
L x
It’s still a quality post though, just as all of your posts are.
Lifts designer gown ever so slightly as she steps up to the podium –
Thank you! Thank you! Wow, I don’t know what to say…but I’ll try. Having been called a “loose cannon” by countless editors, an “embarrassment” by family members, and a “hot shit” by various barroom drunks whose names I have purposely banished from my memory, it is with great pride and schaedenfreud that I humbly accept this prestigious award.
Wipes tear from her eye –
This means so much to me. Thank you again, thank you!
Confusion over whether to exit Stage Left or Stage Right. Stumbles a little over designer dress. Exits Stage Right, sobbing with pride. Thunderous applause ensues.
**Teeni has to go find Latin dictionary, based on dcr Dan’s comment, in order to look up “schaedenfeud,” thinking to herself, “It’s ALL German to me now. Sheesh.”**
I get a kick out of how you edit your meme thingy to theme your post.
I do try. I don’t have to coordinate work outfits anymore these days so I like to coordinate my Meez. She’s kinda like an accessory for my blog. Sorta. And you know, a picture is worth a thousand words, right?
Awwww…you so deserve this award, and I’m very honored that you gave it to me. Wow! Gee! Thanks! I’m making a place for it on my mantle right now. You made my day.
Cool! Making someone’s day is even better than handing them an award.
Congrats!! I really like the gown your Meez is wearing!
You’ll be borrowing my Meez’s clothes soon if you keep losing weight the way you’ve been doing!
Way to go girl! Oh, and yeah, doesn’ that look like something Amelia Auckland would wear?
Congratulations to you, Teeni, and congratulations to all the fine folks you passed this award onto.
Thank you Peter. All of my blog buddies are awesome though.
I agree with the all and Evyl is quite the Character
Your husband is german???? please tell me that aint true. I DID like TGH but now, i might have to reconsider…;)
(OK, i love you and TGH I was truly kidding there!)Happy you guys have a smashing weekend! Now, I am off to bed t a resonabe time tonight!
Nah, TGH isn’t German, he’s just smart! I hope you have a smashing weekend too.
P.S. Dont let TGH come after me
LOL. Don’t worry. You are safe.
Good…not that I hate germans or nothing…
You are brilliant, and I love your “Meez” accepting the award
Too cute! Congrats on yet another award, I’ll have to check out some of these blogs you recommend, especially the young vegan who loves to bake (my 12 year old daughter is a vegetarian) and I’m always looking for something easy, but nutritious. Thanks Teens!
Oh, then I definitely recommend VeggieGirl’s site. Another you should check out is Hannah’s Bittersweet blog at http://bittersweetblog.wordpress.com/. Both of these young ladies are talented vegans whose sites I think your daughter would enjoy. They both have recipes and lots of pics of the food they make. And another great vegetarian site is my buddy, Ariell’s Vegetarian Belly at http://ariell.wordpress.com/. She has lots of quick meals smart tips at her site. I love them all.
Congratulations!! And to those who are awarded too.
Well deserved Teeni!
Aw, thanks, Diane. All my blog buddies deserve awards though. Sometimes I just want to pick them all up and squeeze them in a giant hug and pinch their cheeks. But then I’d become the annoying old aunt who they run away from whenever I visit. LOL.
You are far too kind.
Well, not really but okay, thanks.
Congratulations my dear Teeni!! You deserve every award you get. You are one of the sweetest, most thoughtful, kindest people I know. You handed it out to some wonderful people who deserve it just as well. I love Wendy’s acceptance speech. She is too funny.
Even though I haven’t known her long, I’ve come to love that Wendy too! She really IS too funny and so smart. What a wit on her. I can see why you get along, especially if your sister is anything like you two.
thank you very much for the award teeni, i may have been a tad too late to accept the award, because al the while i already posted my comment here.
it’s tricky to read updates on your blogroll while you have something cooking eh?!
i am thrilled to accept the award, thank you very much, and the kind words, i am so touched!
Well, now you can’t say you haven’t won an award. LOL. And you are never too late to accept it. Yes, it’s tough to cook and blog at the same time. I am definitely NOT good at multi-tasking.
But I AM good at eating!
