Enjoy Chocolate?
Posted on August 3, 2008 - Filed Under Food, Gluten Free, News Flash, Soy Free, Vegan, Vegetarian, Wheat Free
I sure do! I admit it. Count me guilty. And I’m so glad to hear that Enjoy Life has introduced these new chocolate bars. They are dairy-, nut-, soy-, and gluten-free! Yup - they are vegan and allergen-free. I cannot wait to try them. They are going to be available at Whole Foods markets and other specialty stores. If anyone gets hold of one before I do, let me know how they are!
I’ve had rice milk chocolate bars before and they were impossible for me to tell from dairy milk chocolate so I’m really looking forward to these! I already know I love Enjoy Life’s allergen-free semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Yummmmyy just give me more reasons to eat chocolate
Reason? Who needs a reason! LOL.
Yay for you!! I can just feel the excitement in your post, I hope they are all you are expecting them to be (I am sure they will be).
I think they will be. That company has made some pretty consistently good products for people with allergies. I also eat their snack bars, simply because they taste good and I like their ingredients list! I hope I see them in the store soon!
YUMMY, I quite fancy a milk one, I have been rather disappointed with choc substitutes thus far
I wonder if I can send you some? I still have to find them here though. I haven’t seen them yet but I think it won’t be long…
Fake nuts are just wrong. BTW, Congrats Freak.
What? No, couldn’t be! Could it? Did I? Did I really make freak of the week? How the heck did I do that? **runs off to check it out at Evyl’s place**
So what is IN there then?
Just all the stuff that SHOULD be in chocolate and none of the stuff that doesn’t need to be.
I believe it’s this (from their site): evaporated Cane Juice; Natural Chocolate Liquor (Non-Alcoholic); Non-Dairy Cocoa Butter. The rice milk one also has these ingredients: Rice Milk Powder (Rice Syrup Powder, Rice Starch, Rice Flour, Salt, Carrageenan); Salt. If their chocolate chips are any indication, then these bars are going to be absolutely delish.
Congratulations Freak!
OMG - I still can’t believe it! I never thought I’d win! This is quite an honor! Thanks so much!
i love that name… sounds like the soundtrack to a porno..
Enjoy Life? OMG - too funny. Oh wait, before you go …. **scoops your mind out of the gutter and hands it back to you** Wouldn’t want you to forget this. LOL
Those bars are PERFECT!! Well, close (carob would be perfect for me, haha).
Oh, yeah, I forgot to tell you that I bought a carob peanut butter bar at one of my local health food stores to try. I totally thought of you when I bought it. And it tasted much better than I expected it would. I really liked it. I had never had it in a candy bar although I do mix carob and cacao in my smoothies together. So that was a nice treat. You would have appreciated it, I think.
No dairy, no nut, no soy, no gluten, no allergens and, probably, no flavor.
“Health” food don’t actually make you live longer; they just make it seem longer…
Haha. That’s RIGHT. They DON’T have any flavor. YOU wouldn’t like them. YOU go find something else to eat. **smiles slyly, and rubs hands together thinking to herself, “More for ME, more for ME.”** Muhahaha!
lol! no, not the ENJOY LIFE… the BOOM CHOCO BOOM… sounds like the soundtrack to one of those old 70’s movies…
Oh. Duh. How stupid do I feel now? I am sooo slow. **opens her own head hatch and scoops out the mind and puts it in the gutter** Now I get it. That DOES sound like a porn soundtrack.
LOL. In honor of my naivete, I shall now make my Meez wear a dunce cap for the remainder of the life of this post.
Oh do tell when you get to try one, the name is awesome - well at least it was until I read the comment directly above…Boogie nights flashback AHHHHHH!
Got to go catch up on the rest of your posts!
LOL. Yeah, now when I tell people I’m going to get me some Boom Choco Boom, they will have to wonder just how bad I am planning on being.
NomNomNom. Me and chocolate are well aquainted. I couldn’t imagine trying to live without it, and I like to think that chocolate would be equally as lost without me.
Of course it would.
But it IS fickle and loves me too!
Wow, I wonder if there’s anything actually in them!
Perhaps it’s an empty wrapper!
And excuse me, but when did Soya become evil?
Can’t stand that carob stuff personally & think it tastes nothing like chocolate.
LOL. I hope it’s NOT an empty wrapper! I’m sooo looking forward to getting one of these. I checked the ingredients. These are all chocolate - no carob.
Soya is not necessarily evil, although I do suspect anything that is in so much of our foods when it doesn’t have to be, and in many cases it is mass produced. I am avoiding it in my diet however, because of the phytoestrogens in it - my breast cancer was fueled by estrogen and there are conflicting reports on soy and breast cancer. To sum up, it appears that soy is good in your diet if your breast cancer was postmenopausal, but unfortunately, mine was premenopausal. So my oncologist recommended avoiding it. Also, some people are allergic to soy just like some are allergic to nuts. It is one of the top eight allergens. Anyway, now you know another reason why this particular chocolate bar is exciting to me.
That sounds pretty good. If it is good for you, and they make it taste good, well that’s just a double bonus! Tell me what you think when you do get it! I don’t go to whole foods very often Teens, but if by chance I do- I will look for it!
Thanks, JQ. You are such a sweetie. I’m so glad we came across each other.
That sounds interesting! Sometimes that stuff is kind of funny… but I always like to try new things!
Hi Kilax! Welcome to the Vaguetarian Tea Room! And yeah, sometimes that stuff IS kind of funny. But I like trying new things too and this one is proably good if their semisweet chocolate chips were any indication. Yum!
