Stumbling isn’t the only way to reward your blog buddies. Of course there are also regular meme type awards but there are also nominations at different sites for different things. Remember when I won the Freak of the Week contest at Evyl’s place or when Witchypoo nominated me for cheerleader at the 2008 Hoss Bloggy Awards? That’s the kind of award nominations I’m talking about here.

Although I’m late to post about this, I do want to mention that my friend the Diva recently nominated my coupon post to be included over at Schmutzie’s Five Star Friday site. This site allows anyone to submit just about any post for inclusion on a roundup page of posts that were also nominated. I really did notice referrals to my site from Five Star Friday and so I must send out this thank you to both the Diva for nominating me and to Schmutzie for running the Five Star Friday site. It’s a fun way to recognize enjoyable posts. Thank you so much ladies. I really appreciate it.

Have you ever nominated anyone for these types of things? I’m kind of oblivious, so if you know of any other things like this, let me know. I think I’d like to nominate lots of my blog buddies for different things.

i think Five Star Friday is the perfect way to send a shout out to the blogosphere when you’ve read a post that was awesome…

I am always overcome when the Diva thinks one of my posts is good.

Five star Friday rocks! You’re right it’s an awesome idea - mostly because it gives me something to procrastinae with on Fridays

I love Five Star Friday! I try to remember to nominate somebody each week, but I’ve been away for awhile…

Oh yeah, I know you are really good about that stuff - when you nominated me I was so touched and I think that is why I really want to look into it more and keep my eyes open for more such bloggy award things.

I just want to know of other ways to recognize my peeps besides the standard linky love - I really like those bloggy awards type of things so I will have to keep my eyes open for some.

I don’t receive a whole lot of awards, but I do get “fueled” on Fuel My Blog and Stumbled every now and again. A little while back I designed an award and held a contest for who could send me the most legitimate traffic.

I hadn’t heard of Fuel My Blog. I will have to look into that. Oh, your contest is a good idea. Did it generate a lot of traffic?

What a good idea for a site too.

Still haven’t got the hang of the twittering stumbling thing yet though, must admit.

I’m not a twitterer myself - yet another system to update and I don’t think I can take that one on. LOL. And I’m still learning about StumbleUpon even though I installed it last year! I’m veryyyy sloooooow.

It’s not a nominating kind of thing but blogger NYC Watchdog post a regular sunday feature where he snacks on some of his favorite blog posts of the preceding week. I’ve been snacked on twice and I didn’t even mind.

Snacked on? LOL. That’s a good one. I will have to look for that one.

Up until a few months ago, the only blog award I had ever heard of were the Bloggy’s (I think that’s the name anyhow).

That’s great! I once nominated someone for the Blogger’s Choice award. They didn’t win, but it was still fun.

It is fun - I want to do more of that even if nobody I know wins. I think it is cool to think someone cared enough to nominate you. So I’ll be keeping my eyes open for those kinds of contests and nominations.
