It’s That Time of Year Again Folks!

Yeup. It’s here again. I knew it two weeks ago when I heard two Christmas songs in a fifteen minute period while I was shopping in a store. It was further made clear to me when a local mall already had Santa’s Workshop set up and had Santa come in for photo opportunities with the kiddos last weekend! I can’t believe it! We haven’t even had Thanksgiving yet and I haven’t heard Alice’s Restaurant yet, but Christmas is coming faster than poop through a goose! So to me, this means that I need to resurrect a post from last year and let my inner Grinch out before I go on a Who killing spree. Thanks for reading. I won’t mind if you give it a stumble if you like it. ;) Plus, bonus - that post had my first cartoon ever!

I don’t believe I’ve ever heard Alice’s Restaurant before, but I can’t say that any more. That’s 18 minutes and 33 seconds I will never get back, but I think I can live with that.
I guess it is played around this time of year every year in this area. I never really paid much attention to it until a few years ago myself. But yeah - one helluva long song.
I know! I was wandering in Borders and realized that some church choir like song of Christmas hallalujahs was playing ever so soft and I had to just stop and WHAT?!?!?!? already?
I was remarking the other day how amazing it was that Halloween decorations came down so fast until hub reminded me that it was so they could quickly get their blow-up santas and house lights up.
LOL. I think your hubs is totally right. They can’t wait to get those things up and sometimes they display them all at once in the stores. That cracks me up but also disturbs me a bit.

brad and i are already having our annual argument over when to put up the christmas tree. i think it should go up the day after thanksgiving, he doesn’t think it should go up until christmas eve. scrooge.

This year has just flown by! I honestly haven’t heard a Christmas song yet though. But I don’t go shopping all hours of the day like you.
LOL. I really don’t like shopping much except for kitchen things. I seem to enjoy those. And if you haven’t heard the songs yet, just wait. They will be playing from the gas stations, stores, and the radios soon enough. Or maybe in New England we just get inundated more than the rest of the country?

I’m glad you enjoyed it and yes, people can be rude. It just gets to me probably because there are so many of them out and about shopping before the holidays so you are bound to meet more of them then than at any other time of year. LOL. Oh, I can’t wait to check out the song.

Ah-ha! ha! Most excellent cartoon with the fog horn! All I can say is that this time of year brings me to a lower than low place- But, this year- it will not. I, along with my kids are going to focus on the real reason for Christmas; we’ve all committed to it! For that, I’m thankful!

I am with you on this…I mean don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas but there is such thing as too much of a good thing. Christmas is NOT two months long. It’s 2 weeks, MAX.

Can I be the grinch? I hate hate hate christmas and whats worse is my mom is supposed to come stay with us for christmas! I think I am going to become hospitalized on purpose that week!
Oh, it must be your mom’s mom that you are living with then? I think if I were you I would try and rustle up some friends to spend time with during that time.

I love that idea, Yes it is her mom thats the only thing I hate about it 
It will be better for you to have time with someone your own age too instead of always hanging out with adults and hanging out with adults on here all the time.
I love the holidays, but the shopping IS sometimes a nightmare! I am going to try to get it done early this year.
I agree - it’s the shopping that is the nightmare. Yay for early and online shopping. Although this year we did more early shopping so as to avoid shipping costs.
I am VERY Grinch like this time of year; I know that we were comparing notes last year about our mutual annoyances!
I saw a house with TWO Christmas trees UP and Lighted …two days ago…UGH!
