He’s Not All That

Sometimes I pick on my hubby TGH here at my blog.
He is an awesome guy but just so you all know, he’s not perfect either.
For instance, there’s the time he would’ve given me up to the boogeyman without batting an eye. Yeah, I know. Hard to believe. He seems so loving and considerate of me, but it is true.
One night, as we drove together wordlessly in his truck, I thought I would rekindle the romance a bit and indulge in some tender touches like we used to do before we were married. So, I reached over with my left hand to run my fingers through the hair at the nape of his neck.
Well, the guy just about leapt out of his own skin, practically handing the steering wheel over to me and squealing in a high-pitched voice that I didn’t think a man was capable of. It took me a few minutes to stop laughing and then I started to get a little angry.
Me: “Well, why on earth did you jump so high when I touched you? What did you think it was?”
TGH: “I don’t know. I was just so surprised. I thought maybe it was the boogeyman!”
Me: “Oh, I see. You were just about to jump right out of the truck, leaving me alone in there to deal with the boogeyman myself.”
TGH, thinking quick: “Um, no. I was going to run alongside the truck in case you needed me.”
Popularity: 4% [?]
Ah well, if you two were out of the habit of being spontaneneous with your affections, I think he can be forgiven.
I have to plan my spontenaity for weeks!
