Lotsa Stuff

Posted By Teeni on February 2, 2010

Well, this post is waaaaaay overdue.  I’ve been meaning to get to it for about a month now!  Here’s the quick recap of my January for you:

School

Eat

Birthday Party

Eat Some More

Think about writing a post

Procrastinate

Vacuum, laundry, dishes, dust (okay - not really dust - I don’t do that as often as I should)

Eat some more

Peek in on facebook

See some friends

Death of a young cousin

Crocheting some stuff

Think about posting some more

Procrastinate some more

More eating, housework, school, thinking and procrastinating, yadda, yadda, yadda

Yeah, I know - very boring.  But at least I’m honest.  So that was pretty much my January - EXCEPT
for the following awesome things that  happened in between all the other stuff that I’ve been meaning to post about:

The Girl From the Ghetto presented me with an award!!!  I know I’ve retired from doing awards but really,  do you think I’m going to turn it down?  Don’t be crazy!  The Girl From the Ghetto puts me to shame with her up-to-date blog and her pop culture knowledge, as well as her entertaining writing style.  I also love the video blog posts she has done lately.  If you have not visited her yet then at least check out this post - it is just one of the reasons I love her site.  Who else would go through the trouble of linking all these wonderful videos clips for you?  Seriously, I spent at LEAST an hour on this one post of hers, playing all the clips and reliving all those wonderful movie moments.  But that is only a fraction of what you will find on her blog.   Thank you, GFTG!!!!!  Love you!

JavaJunkee also presented me with an award too! It must have been my lucky month!  DoubleJ’s award was for best post of the week and she gave it to me for my Shopping Cart Thieves Post (she loves it when I get all snarky, LOL) which is the one previous to this one if you have not yet seen it.  Feel free to go read it and come back.

Okay, now that you are back we can continue.  DoubleJ is a fun and witty blogger.  Sometimes she will do things just to get a little attention but who can blame her when it seems the blogosphere has slowed down a bit (which is something we are going to have to get on and change around in the near future but THAT is a topic for another post).  Anyway, it’s always something fun over at my favorite Javajunkee’s place so be sure to check her out!  Thank you, DoubleJ - love you!

♥Last but certainly not least - a good buddy of mine on the blogosphere, the Diva herself, will be coming stateside in the spring!  Not only that, but she will be staying in MY state!  And  not only that, but I will get to meet her IN PERSON!!!!  And we will get to tootle around Boston together for a short time while she is here!!!!!!  So I have been extremely excited about this new development and have been trying to come up with things we will need to see and do while she is here.  If anyone has any ideas or tips about what needs to be seen or done in Boston if you were able to spend a weekend there, then please let me know.  I would love to hear your ideas!  The Diva is the one who introduced me to blogging about search terms and she always has some interesting thoughts going through her mind - take a peek for yourself here.  I’ve been following her blog about as long as I’ve been blogging and feel I’ve come to know her as a friend -  so excuse me while I go through the motions of excitement, anxiety, fear, and all that fun stuff that comes with knowing you are going to meet a good friend IN PERSON for the first time!!!

I had already about Diva’s visit on her blog. Very cool! Hope the two of you have a great time!

Thanks, Earl! I’m sure there will be future posts about it. Good to see you ! :)

    Hi teeni!

This is one of those posts where I really don’t have much to contribute in a comment so I had to go searching for something to say — and I knew just where to search. ;)

    “Tiddlypom”

LOL! I know what you mean but you are always welcome whether you have something to say or not. :)

    Looong overdue post

    Sorry about your cousin.

    Nice to see you again.

Thanks, Mac. Every time I think I get into a good routine for blogging again, something changes or comes up. LOL. Oh well. I will try to not be away so long again. I start to miss you all. Maybe I need professional help. ;)

Oh Teeni, I’m so very sorry to hear about your cousin’s passing :-(
Congratulations on your award, and how exciting that you are going to meet a blog buddy in real life! That is always so much fun (I’ve done it several times now).

Thank you, Hannah! Isn’t it so much fun to meet bloggers in real life? If I meet a few more, I may be able to do a post solely on, “Bloggers I Happen to Know Really Exist.” LOL! :)

  6. Suzi Q (2 comments.) says:

You and the Diva will have a marvelous time! Aren’t you supposed to have a tea party when you’re in Boston?

OMG!!!!! Holy crap - YEAH!! How could I have not thought of that??!! Thank you, Suzi!!!! :)

Oh, I loved reading “eat some more.” And hated reading about the death of a cousin, especially a young one. How tragic.

Thanks for giving me a little shout out on your blog. I’m assuming you were talking about my movie dance scene moments, which was a really fun post to write!

Hi Girlie! :) Thank you for the kind words. Yes, I was talking about the movie dance scene moments. I did link to you, but it may be hard to see because of the color of my links. I want to change the color of my links to show up better but I don’t know how to do all that techno stuff. I really had fun with that post of yours as I do with so many of your posts. :)

So sorry to hear about your cousin.

    You are on Facebook?????

Hi DL! Yes, I’m on facebook but I haven’t been active on there. I check in once in a while if I’m craving a game of bejeweled blitz. LOL. I haven’t decided if I am keeping the account or not. I don’t know if I like it or not yet. Do you use it?

I am sorry to hear about your cousin. I didn’t want to do much in January- it is a hard month to deal with I think for various reasons. Good job on the awards and it always neat to meet a person you know online, unless of course they turn out to be “IT”. :)
Hi Michele - I just read your post and I agree with you about January being such a crazy and busy month. I’m glad it is over. So far, I have been fortunate and the bloggers that I have met were not IT! I hope my luck doesn’t change!

Hey, I’m sorry about your cousin too. You know, I almost moved to Boston. We had to choose between there and PA, but we chose PA because it was more practical. What’s the deal with your schooling? Are you done yet? Did I miss a post on that?

Aw, well at least you are closer than you were before! :) You didn’t miss any posts. I think I will be done with school in April! Yay!

    I like your honesty Teeni.

Most impressed that the awards still keep rolling in even when you are on a blogbbatical!

    How do you do that?

Great to have you back anyway. You must tell us how your course is going.

    Laura xx

Hi Poet! I don’t know about the awards. But if people like my ranting posts, then they should stay tuned because I’ve got a real winner coming soon. LOL.

Remember, you can’t sell your awards on ebay…I’ve tried…

    Dagnabbit! I think I coulda made a fortune! ;)

I think we had the same January! I didnt do very much either!

LOL. It seems like all the resting after the holidays that you THINK you’ll be able to do in January, never actually happens. No wonder I’m relieved the month is over.

  14. Ello!!!!

Sorry to hear about your cousin :( Are you okay? How is school coming along?

Hey look me up on Facebook I have a personal FB account under my full name. I have so many photos to share. :)
Aw, thanks for asking - I’m doing okay. School is keeping me crazy - I keep asking if I really want to do this. LOL. Oh, I tried looking for you on FB but there are a LOT of you! I think I’ll just go and email you my full name so you can find me! :)

  15. and ooops!

I commented under the wrong persona!!!!

LOL - No worries - I think I fixed it for you!

Meeting an online friend in person for the first time is nerve wrecking, even if it’s not a love interest. Personally, I still had the jitters of if I would measure up in person, which in looking back, I know was silly. The one time, which was spur-of-the-moment, I flew out to Minnesota to visit a backgammon friend for New Years Eve when neither of us had plans. I even stayed at her place, and we had a blast, despite the 4F temps. I’m sure you guys will too.

I love Boston, and the things I remember liking best were the Faneuil Hall area, taking a duck boat tour, and driving out to Concord for a tour of all those famous authors houses, as well as the cemetery where a lot of them are buried. Then there was a wildflower and/or herb garden around there somewhere that I loved walking around, but of course, you’d have to have warmer weather for that :)
    Enjoy!

I know what you mean about the jitters, Skye! But I’m so glad you had a wonderful meeting! Oh - duck tours and authors’ homes! Good ones! Thank you! :)

Teens, so very sorry to hear about the passing of your young relative. I’m thinking of you and will send up good thoughts for you and your family. Seems like you and I have been eating and procrastinating in January *ok, Feb too for me* -
TGFTG and JJ are fantastic reads for sure and congrats on your awards! You deserve them. Hope school and life keep going well for you and i’m excited that you get to meet a blog friend, I cannot imagine what that would feel like! Love and huggles to you Teeni!

Aw, thanks so much, Mabs. I appreciate all your kind words and thoughts. I’m surprised that you actually have not met any bloggers in person yet. I know if I were going to be anywhere in your vicinity that I’d be looking you up!!! :) This month will be good for us!!! <=positive thinking!!!!

Just wanted to say hello. How is school going? How neat that you get to meet one of your blogging buddies.

    Melanie

Hi Melanie! School is almost done! Yahooooo! :) I really miss being home at night in front of the boob-tube with my hubby and having dinner together. But I should be done in April so there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

Sorry to hear about your cousin.
Congrats on the awards and on your upcoming bloggin’ bud visit.
I would suggest you take her to that pizza place you said you would take me were I ever in your neck of the woods. :P Mmmm… pizza.
That’s all I got. I don’t know Boston. Take her where you like to go. If it’s special to you, it will be special to her. ;)
Hi Peter! :) The pizza place is a great idea. Now I’m hungry just thinking about it. Awww, you are sweet! Thanks for the kind words. Hugs!

Hey Teeni! Just dropped in to say hi! Congrats on your awards. Sorry about your cousin.

Hi Apar! It’s good to see you! I wanted to ask if that was you who was trying to follow me on Twitter. Thanks for your kindness about my cousin.

Just found your blog. How do you post this much, I am new to this blog thing and I guess instead of talking so much I need to start saving my words for my blog.

Well, hello Frisco Real Estate or can I just call you Frisc? It’s easy to post this much - you should have seen how much I used to post! Anyway, just think on any old subject for a little while and I’m sure you can come up with plenty of words for a post. Good luck!
